Description: The Waterwheel Inn was built in the late 1700s. It is steeped in the industrial history of Cornwall as it was once a tin smelting house and then involved in clay drying. It is set in a beautiful wooded valley next to St Austell's White River and just 10 minutes walk from the town. The restaurant is elegant but informal with exposed granite walls, oak floor and a log fire for cold winter evenings. We serve unpretentious, plentiful, freshly prepared meals including a 2 and 3 course menu for £14.95/£17.50, main meals from £10.95 and an a la carte menu with fresh local fish and seafood specials, plus extra mature chargrilled steaks.

Brilliant food and a good price topped off by the company of a very lovable Labrador and very friendly owners. We will be returning if we are ever in the area again. Will recommend to anyone

went for a meal with friends at the waterwheel, walked into the reception area and had a drink from the bar and sat on the comfy leather sofa whilst looking at the menu deciding what to have.very nice selection of food to choose from and the price wont make you cringe. Our orders were taken and after a short while we were shown to our table in the restaurant, being a winters evening we were in the main building as opposed to the large conservatory, all in all an enjoyable meal in a lovely place with first class service, will visit again.

An excellent 70th birthday party for 16 at the lovely Waterwheel last night. Wonderful food as always, friendly service and coped well despite short staff after New Year. Thankyou for yet another lovely evening. Clean plates all round. The fillet steak was especially good

We were lucky enough to get booked into this wonderful venue for Christmas Day lunch. The food was fantastic (best turkey we had tasted all season), atmosphere was great, the staff were excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed the games they had provided on the tables. We would highly recommend.
