This is a beautiful building and location but our room was very tired. Lounge chairs lacked padding in the seats, TV was very small.
Views are good, location is quiet and reasonably easy to find.
Continental breakfast ( as advertised) is included with fresh bakery items and fresh fruit but we chose to give it a miss ( our choice as we felt liked a cooked breakfast on that morning)
Drive way perhaps needs attention eg a scraper over,it but given we were driving a rental car we were cautious and traversed very slowly
No wifi in the building

Stephen,
I'm sorry you were not entirely satisfied. It seems you did not make use of the downstairs guest area with several comfy lounges and the big TV, (There are only dining chairs and small TVs in the rooms). The driveway was a bit rough due to the torrential downpour the night before, but has now been attended to.

Really beautiful house in a stunning, peaceful setting. The house itself has a large well equipped kitchen and comfortable living room which were for all to use. The room itself was huge, the bed very comfy and we had our own private outside space on the veranda which was lovely to sit and watch the kangaroos in the morning/evening. We even saw a wombat which I was very excited about. The owners were very generous with the food provided in the fridge, we had cheese, ham, biscuits, cereal, tea, coffee and a bottle of wine to greet us. We were also given fresh pastries from the local bakery each morning with the daily newspaper which was a nice touch. Definitely recommend staying here, its a perfect retreat and the owner was very accommodating, thank you for a lovely stay!

If you are looking for a old fashioned style guest house with modern conveniences with old style hospitality this is the place. Located outside of the town of Kangaroo Valley, Wombatalla offers unique comfortable guest room with a deck to view the kangaroos that visit daily. Be aware that this facility does not have wifi but the cellular service was adequate.
The proprietor, Pat and his wife were very friendly and most helpful. They delivered fresh pastries and the newspaper to your door every morning. The guest house offers a full kitchen and comfortable lounge spaces.

Spent the weekend here and loved it. Never been a fan of b&bs and forced socialisation but that's so not an issue here. The owners have catered to your everything we were so impressed by the house and gardens ands the breakfast basket was a gorgeous touch that. Big comfy beds, lovely deck and I'm sure the fireplace is a treat in winter. These guys know how to do it right. Can't wait for a return trip.

It is such a joy to choose a property and when you arrive, it not only meets the expectations set by all of the research but achieves an even higher level of satisfaction. It is one thing to have your basic requirements met such as a warm, clean, cosy, well appointed room. The setting should be (and was) as described and location as promised, but what sets the very best properties apart is what you don't expect. The special little touches that go above and beyond what is expected.

The property's owner Patrick, certainly understands what is required to set Wombatalla above what is expected.

I would love anyone reading this review and deciding to stay, to have the same experience we did so I'm not even going to detail the extras because then, they won't be unexpected. Just suffice to say that you are treated like a family friend who your host would hope to impress from a warm welcome to an impressively stocked fridge of complimentary goodies!

I would most definitely recommend this property to family and friends. I would absolutely rebook another stay at Wombatalla Guesthouse next time I am in the area, in fact I am thinking of organising a get-together with friends and booking the entire property.

Extra note: We went to the Kangaroo Valley Pub for dinner as it was Saturday night and felt this would be the logical choice.. Memories of the pub from years ago were quite good but I would try elsewhere next time as it was pretty disappointing. The bistro was run down and had a very limited menu. A two piece band blasted the small crowd with such unnecessary volume that most left. There was next to no atmosphere and the only place to escape the volume was outside in the cold and thick cigarette smoke ... very disappointing...

Room Tip: Two of the rooms, and the one my wife, 11yr old son and I stayed in have a King and single bed and definitely large enough for three.
