Beautiful historic inn! We loved all the stone, the wood, the textures, and the orchids. Downtown is a short walk away, so we parked the car and strolled to shopping and to supper. Gilja's signature French toast was delicious. The Delaware room was sunny and cozy, and we appreciated all the extra touches in the bathroom. The mattress was a memory-foam, and Husband wondered if he could adjust to the experience, but it worked out fine.

Innkeeper Gilja Kusano owns and operates a beautiful historic B&B within easy walking distance of the town center. The home is beautiful inside and out. The woodwork is exquisite. The furniture and decor complement the home. We stayed in the Longwood Suite for four days. That offers a bedroom, separate sitting room and ensuite bathroom. The king size bed has a very comfortable pillow top mattress that provided a good sleep. There is a flat screen TV with many channel selections. There is a small library of books and games as well as a supply of snacks on the second floor. Gilja provides very tasty, artistically presented, nutritious breakfasts. She offers advice on area attractions and discounted tickets for some of them. We bought Longwood Gardens tickets from her. Parking is on the side street beside the inn. There are beautiful homes and quaint streets for walkers to enjoy. The place is ideal for couples. I highly recommend the Kennett House Bed and Breakfast.

We stayed two nights here and Gija suggested we buy our tickets to the Longwood Gardens form her and save money, (great tip).
She also suggested a great restaurant and we loved it,( Portobellos).
The house has been a B&B for years and when she was ready to be an inn keeper this house became available, what a coincident, (probable, met to be).
Her food preparation was excellent, she went to a lot of trouble, didn't cut corners, to make each breakfast we had unique and most tasty....

Deservedly the Tripadvisor Number 1 B&B in Kennett Square. Gilja is a fantastic host and prepares breakfast treats to die for. The house and its rooms are generously proportioned. We chose the Delaware Room that faces to the rear as I was uncertain about traffic noise at the front: but, having visited, I am sure that this can be discounted as a potential issue. The Delaware Room has a bedroom, a separate lounge area and a spacious bathroom. The house, on a corner plot, is well signposted from the major road: parking is in the residential side-road. It is an easy walk up a moderate incline into the centre of this interesting small town.

The house is a beautiful mansion from the turn of the century with period furnishings. The woodwork is gorgeous. The owner is gracious and a wonderful cook, charming and helpful. I recommend highly. Can walk to Kennett restaurants.
