Rooms were clean and comfortable but the toilet in our room ran (I had to shut it off to get to sleep). Friendly staff. Free breakfast was just cereal, yogurt and store bought donuts. Wife liked the free popcorn and that free coffee was available all day. Lots of parking. Conveniently close to Lancaster and other attractions.

We booked a one night stay for a king size bed with balcony. We had room 311 first floor so it had a larger porch area. The room is on the end of the back building so its shaped different than the others. It appeared to us maybe it was once a utility room and had been converted. The room is directly behind a breakfast area with a tv. So can cause to be noisy especially early in the morning when the continental breakfast was being prepared. The room is definelty rustic but our room looked as though it might have suffered water damage it felt damp when we got there. There was a damp rid bag full.of water hiding behind the tv stand. The bathroom floor was cracked under the sink, the sink faucet knob is very hard to pull up to turn on and very dirty underneath and the shower head is bad and dirty as well. Water pressure was bad too. There is drop ceiling in the bathroom which is unusual. The rest of the room and light fixtures were extremely dusty. The carpet was dated, wall paper was peeling off the walls. For the $159.00 price tag i expected better accommodations. Family of ours were staying in room 309 and a heavy rainstorm came in we noticed the gutters were clogged so the covered porch area was getting soaked so we couldn't sit out and watch the storm. The free breakfast did Not have Hot food only breads, pastries, cereal, yogurt and beverages.
Needless to say the location is great but we won't return again .

Room Tip: Don't book room 311

We have just spent 3 days again in Lancaster. We chose to return again to The Country Inn of Lancaster. It is the place to stay. Friendly and helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms, brilliant location.

We asked to be in a quiet room so they gave us a room in the back building. It looked nice enough. Unfortunately, we didn't realize that the air conditioner would whine every so often. We fell asleep and then the AC groaned and whined. And then it would stop. And you would turn over and hope it was a one time thing. It wasn't. It would groan and whine again and then be quiet for a while. To think that we actually paid them $166 to be tortured like that. What a horrible night's sleep!

Room was pricey for what we got. As we walked in the smell of must was overwhelming. We noticed that there was a damp rid bag behind the TV so this must be a problem in all rooms. The small drawers under the TV had to be shared by 4 women so we had to use our suitcases for the 5 days we were there. The "free" breakfast was very limited and they advertised hard boiled eggs which never appeared for the five days there. A microwave sits in the far corner on a bookstand for heating the packets of oatmeal. You have to crawl between two tables of folks to use it. Always feared spilling as it was in a Styrofoam bowl and it could easly splash on a nearby traveler. The room needs to be expanded as there was never enough room for people to sit and eat their breakfast. Pool was a disappointment. It was clean but it was inside an all glass building with only a few roof windows open to break up the heat inside. There were sliding glass doors all around that could have given a cross breeze but the handles on them were broken and they couldn't be opened. Very steamy inside. Couldn't relax poolside and read a book because of the heat inside. The outside patio had chairs and picnic tables but there was no umbrellas over the table for those of us who don't like the direct sun.

The one positive of this place was the staff. They were very friendly and always eager to help. We also enjoyed the restaurant across the parking lot. Was very convenient on a Friday night when traffic on Rt. 30 was horrible.

Room Tip: Building 3 rear rooms have less traffic noise
