Owner description: Perched on a rock above a gushing waterfall, this historic house was built for a Pittsburgh family by architect Frank Lloyd Wright in the 1930s, ingeniously designed to blend harmoniously into the tranquil and beautiful woods around it.

We preplanned and booked a 10am tour. The visitor's center, cafe and shop were welcoming and friendly. (Food and souvenirs are a bit pricey). The tour through the house was really interesting and beautiful. Best be able to be on your feet for 1hr +, be able to do some trail walking/stairs, keep small hands monitored as the house/furnishings are able to be viewed close up. Really recommend if you are interested in architecture, conservationism, Frank Lloyd Wright (of course) but even unusual construction and design.

Lovely tour of the iconic Frank Lloyd Wright masterpiece, Falling Water. So many interesting details about the house, its design, the Kaufmann family and Frank Lloyd Wright. The guided tour of the house takes about 1 hour, and you can access the grounds on your own as well. Large purses/bags are not permitted on the tour, the hallways in the house are small. They have a nice gift shop that is worth a look, with a large selection of books. The on site restaurant looked nice, but we did not try it.

We visited on a sleepy Monday morning for our 11 am tour of this iconic Frank Lloyd Wright home and loved our visit. Our tour guide, Karen was top notch: friendly, helpful, and a wealth of knowledge. We will return!

When you get to tick something off your bucket list and it actually was truly amazing and inspirational.

It lived up to the hype! I think having a good tour guide helped. We had probably the youngest one there, and she was so enthusiastic about the building and its history. It made it very enjoyable.

Don't forget- you can't touch nor photograph anything inside- not even for a lazy lean, but seeing it with your own eyes is worth it, and then obviously buying the book afterwards to help prompt your memory of the insides!

The exterior is visible from the money shot down the creek, to up near the fresh spring water pool. Amazing- a must!

As we had younger kids, they got grounds passes and walked around and explored while I did my tour, and they still enjoyed it/

After years of yearning to visit Fallingwater, we were finally able to go during the autumn season which was lovely. The house museum is well organized with informative tours and the decor did not disappoint. I was surprised at the very rural nature the surrounding area. We spent the night in a Wright house at Polymath Park and ate at the restaurant on the premises. Then the next day visited Kentuck Knob. I highly recommend this itinerary and booking all of these places well ahead of time. It is a fantastic weekend.
