Porch is a top-notch restaurant, and our favorite in the area -- actually, it's two restaurants: upstairs, there is fine dining, and downstairs is a small pub (with pub food -- the fish and chips are great) with live music every Friday night. The chef, Joe Edwards, is classically trained, and we have yet to be disappointed with anything we've had there (and we are frequent customers). The crab cakes are absolutely the best -- all chunk crabmeat with no fillers, and the smoked trout bruschetta appetizer is fantastic. Service upstairs is impeccable, as are the table appointments, and the atmosphere is quiet and gracious. Downstairs is much more relaxed and sometimes noisy, but the food and drinks are always wonderful (you can order from the pub menu or from the upstairs menu). In warm weather, there is a small outside patio with umbrella tables.
Porch sits at the intersection of two country roads in the little town of Millardsville -- a most unlikely spot for a restaurant of this caliber. It is truly one of the best restaurants we have ever been to anywhere in the world.
