Signature sandwich includes fries and slaw, as well as tomato in a thick white bread along with your meat, or in my case fish. Service was friendly. Open 24 hours. Worth a visit for the experience.

It gets a lot of hype, but I'm not a huge fan. Had the burger and cheese.... I don't really like all my food piled on the sandwich. But it was a Pittsburgh experience.

In Pittsburgh for a youth hockey tournament and other parents suggested a trip to Primanti Brothers. Excellent choice. Probably better sandwich shops in town, but these guys certainly have it down. Heard the history of their sandwiches and had to try the Reuben and New Yorker. Both were very good. Great selection of craft beers as well. Very large place, deceptive from the outside. Great service as well!

If America had a sandwich, it just might be the 'Primanti'. While claiming our baggage at the Pittsburgh International Airport, my family was deliberating on where to find 'things special to PIttsburgh'. Overhearing our conversation, a man waiting for his luggage, offered some worthy advice, 'Get a Primanti sandwich'. After figuring out how to pronounce it, how to spell it and where to find it, we were off and running. Don't bother with Siri. She just couldn't grasp the name when we tried her, for help. In the downtown district near the Carnegie Museum, we located one of the Primanti Brothers restaurants. A tiny place inside, with a little cook-in-view stainless steel kitchen, the atmosphere was warm and friendly. We climbed to the crow's nest, loft seating and magically our server appeared in seconds. While sucking down some rootbeer, we again found ourselves deliberating, but this time, pouring over the many choices and combinations of the Primanti sandwich. Have it with meat, have it with eggs, get it with meat and eggs, have it with fish! Choices...choices. Everyone ordered something different. After a short wait, our gigantic sammys arrived. Two huge slabs of fresh homemade Italian bread with piled high roast beef, coleslaw (not tangy), french fries and cheese. It was fantastic! I still have no idea how I ate it all, but it happened. If this was Pittsburgh's signature sandwich, than this was an American icon. That's why I dub it the 'Star Spangled Sandwich'. When it town again, we will be back for sure. Make it a point to try one, or at least half of one. In review, the restaurant had great service, it was immaculate and the food was terrific. Highly recommended. Fun, fast and cheap. Sandwiches were all around 8-dollars each.

Just like all the shows, this place is magically good. Great sandwich selection and the sandwiches are big. Only gripe would be having the fries a little bit crispier. Definitely worth the stop in.
