As usual check in was great, then you go over to guest services and the pressure for you to go to the sessions is unreal. My husband told them 3 times we are not interested and yet they insisted, he told them we are not buying any more (we are gold members), they promised and even on the paper they give you the first line is so pressure. The next day and 3, yes 3 hours later we finally left the sale session. Really, we are on vacation and they tried to get us to come back the next day. Before we went my daughter said I hope we will not be talking for hours like last time. Let people enjoy their vacation, we are already owners. leave us alone. You make it sound like you are doing us a favor but you are not. Now to the villas, very outdated. The couch was new. Beds are so small, decorations old, everything needs updated. No bathroom on first level, not even half a bath. No family changing room in the pool area. Lifeguards are not worth having, How do you have lifeguards who are fully dressed? they are on their phones, talking to each other, not paying attention. A 10 year old boy went in fully dressed to save his sister who was maybe a year old, her head went under water. I think I said enough for now.

This was our 2nd visit to the Village - stayed in #95 which had all new furniture and was really nice. We meet our family from New York and have a "special needs" child - it was great for him to walk around - we visited several of the falls - played bingo just for fun - played at the goony golf - The leaves were turning colors! We saw wild turkeys in the yard and several deer. No bears this time. We only needed to call maintenence once and he was there in minutes and the problem was simple. We are not looking for luxury - we want homey, comfortable place to enjoy being together and not worry about busy streets, etc. We are hoping our 3rd visit will be just as good as our 1st and 2nd.

Room Tip: October is a wonderful time to visit - no crowds . Ask about your room when you book and tell them if you do have any special needs.

This is a very clean, well equipped unit for those who want to get away from it all, and those who want "the whole world" within a 2 or 3 hour drive. (This is our first time to visit the area. Since we're from Dallas, it's so different here. The towns, cities, and states are so close to each other, relative to how far we have to drive just to get out of Texas.)

Both bedrooms are upstairs in our unit (#96). One (master) bedroom has its own bath, with just a shower - no tub. The second bedroom's bath is just across the hall. It has a tub/shower combo. Each bedroom has a 32" or 36" (?) flat screen tv, plus a larger tv and a DVD player in the downstairs den. Cable/satellite TV service channel lineup is not too shabby. Internet access is slow, compared to home. Streaming should NOT be expected.

The hot water gets plenty hot, but the plumbing is such that if the water is turned on anywhere else in the condo at the same time, it takes it away from the shower head. OUCH!

Furnishings are nice enough, even if a little dated. Crank open windows are standard. The only feature lacking is an ice maker in the refrigerator. It's been awhile since I've had to twist and flex a plastic ice cube tray to release the ice cubes.

There are many more units spread across the heavily treed area and property security seems to patrol frequently. Wyndham's main activity/check-in center is very nice, and they have planned activities, most of them are family oriented.

The location was perfect for a family get-together in the fall! The unit itself, not so much! We obviously were placed in an older condo. The upstairs bedrooms were very spacious and the kitchen counter that opened to the dining area was convenient. However, we had a reason to call maintenance every day we were there!! The maintenance guys that showed up were wonderful --they fixed the refrigerator, replaced light fixtures, replaced shower doors, and the list went on. But should you have to wait for the repair crew every day of your vacation?? The internet access also needs to be updated. It is charged on a daily basis per device!!!! There were six of us in the condo each with phones, computers and tablets and a need to stay in touch with work and family. Even after paying the price, the service was very, very slow. This is not a location problem because when we headed into town (not that far!) we had good connection. This is a resort problem. So this place is great if you want to step back in time and fall off the grid and just enjoy the fall color!

Room Tip: Get the newest construction you can!

Certainly not a luxury Villa! We are in #100, and were delighted to hear upon check-in we were in a "newly renovated" unit.....freshly painted yes, but in dire need of updating. Fortunately the fall leaves are at their peak, the weather is warm, and we are spending all of our time outside.
