This bed and breakfast is good, but it stopped short of being great.
To start with, it is quite expensive. The price nearly discouraged us from choosing it, but we went ahead anyway. The location is very nice. It is nestled right along the river with several other small towns nearby and a larger town (Easton) only 30 min. away. There are several farms, wineries, restaurants, etc. nearby that will quickly fill up your days leaving you little time to relax on the dock in the rear of the property.
The staff was very polite and helpful. They were always accessible and willing to assist with any request. There was lovely pantry that offered drinks and snacks and the staff made tea and additional snacks available in the late afternoon.
In the mornings there is a small menu so that guests are offered a choice of breakfast options to choose from (even offering the option of breakfast in bed!).
But I do offer one warning for anyone looking at booking Room 1. It is situated on the first floor, which is convenient to everything. However, the pictures are a bit misleading as you look out into the parking lot, not a picturesque view over the river. The house is also old, so you hear everyone walking around on the first floor and above you. The room is also positioned behind the dining area, so in the morning you can clearly hear through the wall as the other guests order their food and then can hear their conversations.
Overall we had a lovely stay and would come back, we would just stay on the second or third floor.

Room Tip: Do not stay on the first floor.

Thank you for your review Kurt. We are glad you enjoyed our location, friendly staff, amenities and would plan a return visit.
Your rate of $249 is inclusive of an $80 food value, unlimited beverages, snacks from our butler's pantry, a breakfast menu cooked by our chef with over 15 different combinations & a wonderful afternoon tea with homemade sweets, savories, evening sherry & turndown service. When compared to other properties, add a riverfront location, water access, a professional caring staff - There is much value in our rates.

Any property will experience more activity on it's main level, those that are noise sensitive should always inquire when selecting a room, as we have 2 buildings & 3 floors- The higher you go the better the view & privacy.

We are very glad that you would plan a return visit, please contact me directly & I will be happy to assist you in selecting a room.

We stayed 1-4 Sep in the Delaware Suite for a long weekend getaway. Our room was fantastic with beautiful views of the river from our balcony. The bed was roomy and very comfortable. French doors lead out to a screened in balcony, which was perfect for evenings listening to the crickets chirp. The breakfast each morning was superb. I always went with the Chef's special and was never disappointed. Afternoon tea was delicious. The lemon bars and orange cake was wonderful!. Although we did not try the jetted tub, the shower for two was roomy with two shower heads, so no one had to take turns being in the cool air. The room has a mini fridge and coffee pot. They provide coffee cups, coffee, filters, sweeteners, and creamer. The only thing missing was scoop to put the coffee in the filer, but we had brought a plastic spoon with us so it was not a big deal. I am sure had we asked, the staff would have happily provided a scooper. Speaking of the staff, we found everyone to be very nice and friendly. We felt welcomed as soon as we arrived. The do a fire pit on Friday and Saturday Nights (weather permitting) which is lovely. Plus when the weather is warm, you can swim off the small dock located on the river. We did notice beach towels were provided by the door for swimming. Overall, a fantastic experience. We are looking forward to our next stay

Thank you for your kind review. It was our pleasure to welcome you. The Delaware Suite is one of our guest favorites and we are glad you enjoyed it too. How sorry we are that there was not a scoop in the coffee and yes we would be happy to replace it for you so please do ask on future visits. I will be sure to share your comments with our chefs - they were commenting that they also enjoyed the orange cake as it was a new addition to our menu this weekend - their lemon bars are a tried and true favorite of guests and staff alike! We too look forward to your next stay!

My fiance' and I started going to the Bridgeton House on the Delaware several years ago and we continue to enjoy their accommodations and hospitality whenever our schedules allow. Although the main house is filled with beautiful rooms with great views of the river, we always opt for the dog-friendly and beautifully appointed Boat House. The staff has come to feel like family and the Boat House a home-away-from home.
Many thanks to Bea, Charles, Diane, Virginia and the entire staff for making our stay last week another great getaway!

Room Tip: Upper floors have the best River Views.

Always wonderful to see you again - it has been our pleasure to get to know you over the years (and not just because of Seneca - although he is one of our favorite guests for sure). Happy to back to school and we hope to see you again on your next break.

Our vacation was our 'Thanksgiving' celebration for our 1st granddaughter's healthy birth earlier that month, as well as a gateaway gift to ourselves to enjoy nature. It was also a special treat away for the City for our pup, Ginger, who LOVED the area and blended perfectly! She particularly adored the fireplace.

We stayed at the Boathouse, one of the suites that allows crate trained dogs. We splurged on many of the Inn's available packages, including flowers, the amazing Thymes gift set, basket dinner w/wine, and champagne breakfast in bed. We stayed an extra day because we couldn't bear to leave! The staff was wonderful; there were some minor hiccups due to the holiday & last minute changes, but nothing that wasn't immediately corrected with simple communication.

The privacy of the Boathouse is wonderful, the teahouse is adorable, and the staff is amazing. The beautifully dressed bed was a cloud (inspiring us to upgrade our own at home! Our pup loved the nearby tow path and we enjoyed the excercise. Highly recommend for a special occasion. The Boathouse pictures are exactly as appointed. Time to visit again!

Room Tip: If you have a dog, the Boathouse is a must!

Thank you for sharing your experience, how pleased we are to read that you enjoyed your special celebration time at Bridgeton House. We also thank you for allowing us the opportunity to make everything right during your visit. We find that pups and humans alike seem to enjoy the tow path, I know we use it almost daily.

This year's Thanksgiving calendar is starting to fill in, so if you are planning to return the same time this year, please do contact us soon, otherwise we look forward to welcoming you again when your schedule permits!

Very modest looking from the road, but expands back to a beautiful property all the way down to the river. We had Room 4, on the 2nd floor with a private screened porch facing the river... 2 armchairs, a footrest and a little table for wine and snacks... all set. Combine that with a delicious breakfast, lovely and helpful staff, and you have a recipe for relaxing.

Room Tip: stay n a room overlooking the river - 2nd floor or higher.
