I love this restaurant to dine in or take out. Service is excellent. The soup and meatballs are a little pricey but worth it. Bring your own container if you want instead of paying for one. Also you can order it hot or cold! It is always excellent and we enjoy it on a regular basis.

No flavor. Bland. Didn’t enjoy any of it. I eat in a lot of Italian restaurants and was disappointed here. The staff and service however were fabulous.

Macera's is a small but charming Italian restaurant tucked into the side and rear of a strip mall on busy commercial Oaklawn Avenue in western Cranston. You might not even notice it when driving by, although they have in recent years added a more visible entrance and a bigger sign at street side.

The food is authentic Italian and very delicious, and the prices are reasonable -- in fact, exceptionally so when you see the portions served!! The amount of food we got with each and every entree was absolutely unbelievable; every member of my dining part went home with enough leftovers for another two meals, and I am honestly not exaggerating a bit! We were astonished when our dishes arrived, and delighted when we tasted them.

The little bistro is charmingly decorated, and we were lucky enough to get the table that's set apart above the main space like a little private balcony, set apart with front-porch like railings and flowers. The ceiling of the main dining area is accented with star-like lights in a faux sky. Simple but very pretty and very homemade in feeling, not corporate or slick in any way. There is ample off-street parking.

If you're in the area and you love good, straightforward, and freshly prepared Italian food, do yourself a favor and drop by this charming and easy-to-miss little place. It's a real-life hidden gem.

Met after work with friends. Appetizers of calamari and antipasto were very good. Veal parmigiana with penne was delicious. Lasagna was good portion and very tasty. Roasted chicken with potatoes and veggies also very good. Salad, bread and their signature chicken escarole soup are just perfect with every meal. Lots of specials to choose from. Affordable menu. Waitstaff attentive and friendly. Easy parking and access to restaurant. Will definitely have leftovers for the next day!
