Lots of space with power drops for your camper or RV. Hiking trails and rocky beaches. In season pavilion to rent for your event. Area is a re-purposed military fort, thus everything is laid out on a grid. Check the waters for the seals. Another good spot for scuba divers.

Wow, Fort Getty is really a gem. The location is gorgeous and serene. The campground is mostly RV's so it is not for people who prefer secluded tent camping. There is also not tree cover in the upper campground area, so be sure to bring a screen tent. The lower camping area is near the entrance and does not have the same views (or bathrooms!) as accessible. The rates are extremely reasonable considering the location. The bathrooms are okay, showers could use some updating/deep cleaning. The biggest drawback is the overpopulation of skunks that
are completely comfortable raiding your campsite - right while you are sitting there!! We could not get them to leave us alone and they were underfoot and in everything. Our first night there a few campers moved sites or left due to the skunks. The park staff kind of brushed our complaints off saying that there were regulations around trying to deal with the skunk population, so there was nothing they could do. If you are a tent camper, this is a beautiful spot, yet it has a major critter draw back. I would have given it four stars, except for the skunk issue!

Just the most peaceful scenic park to be in the Fall, Winter and Spring. In the summer it is also amazing but is taken over by summer RV's, there is plenty of room to still enjoy the beaches and cove and what a place to camp! However it is in the quiet season one can truly appreciate the walkways and water with pets and friends.

Wedding in the pavilion after ceremony atop the hill was an AMAZING event. The accommodations and location were wonderful. Cannot beat the view.

I'm surprised I'm the first one to write about their skunk problem. We even had an employee come to our campground to warn us about it. The skunks will come right up to you and eat out of your hand if you let them. A group of us were sitting around the fire and we had like six around us. Ended up getting our trash in the middle of the night. It sprayed a dog owned by the people camping next to us. The site is mostly RVs so I guess most people don't notice and maybe this is a new problem for them. Not being able to park close to your tents was also not ideal. The park is beautiful though. It was quite and the bathrooms were as clean a you can expect camping bathrooms to be. Not sure if we will go back but we did have a good time.
