The owners were sweet, and helpful. There was a lovely spread for breakfast, and the desserts at night, while store bought, were tasty and a nice touch. There was wine waiting for us in our room which was a nice touch. They've done a nice job with the courtyard and the landscaping.

The rooms? Well some of the things can't be helped: its an old motel property with no sound insulation. We got to enjoy the folks above us having a protracted argument late at night, and the rest of the time one of the occupants stomped around with boots on. when he wasn't hanging on the upstairs walk way smoking. The rooms are tiny, there is only room for a full sized bed and a small dresser. My "nightstand" was a frig with a microwave piled up on top. No room to put your luggage other than the floor, and no where to hang your clothes other than a towel rack in the bathroom.

But there were things they could have helped: like adding reading lights, or a clock. The sheets were worn, I could feel the pills under my feet. The bathroom rugs were worn and dingy, if they hadn't been originally white I might not have noticed. You are provided only one washcloth/hand towel per room, are we supposed to share this? The grab handle in the shower was full of mildew, although the rest of the bathroom was clean. The air conditioner was old, made a lot of noise and didn't have much effect. Breakfast was late both days- 9:15 one day and close to 10 the other day due to a delay at the store.

So for a weekend, this place is ok. Just know what you are getting into, this is not a Hampton Inn. Bring earplugs. The lovely owners really try hard. Just paying a little more attention to details could move them up a notch.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us at the BLUE WHALE INN. We strive to create a relaxing environment for all of our guests to enjoy and apologize we were not able to accomplish this for you. We are delighted you did enjoy our complimentary breakfast and sunset celebration. It seems like one of our larger Deluxe Suites would have better suited your personal preference and created a more positive experience, as they offer more space along with a sitting area. We wish you had brought to our attention the other guests disturbance, as we would of been happy to correct the situation immediately. We feel the fact we are not a corporate property, but a coastal inn with charm near the shore is a positive attribute that our guests are looking for on their summer beach getaways. Thank you for your review, as we rely on the helpful feedback from guests like yourselves to help us improve upon our service. We would certainly embrace another opportunity to show you all we have to offer and safe travels!

I have been going to the beach here for years but this place was over the top clean, friendly, and more then accommodating. The owners Christine and steven are on site helping in any way and they have a wine and cheese event every night for their customers. We were so impressed we already booked with them for next year. its a short walk to the beach and you CANT TOP THIS TYPE OF SERVICE. I am so impressed I have starting spreading the word to friends family and my locla newspaper. Give credit when credit is due!!! THANK YOU BLUE WHALE!!!!

Room tip: the executive suite is new and not yet listed on their site but it sleeps 6-8!! AWESOME

This was a great little inn. It was the perfect distance from the very busy beach (far enough away for quiet but close enough to walk). The owners were extremely accommodating even made chocolate covered strawberries and gluten free muffins for my friends bday.
