We made a reservation and four of us came for dinner. Three of us were not sure what we were going to eat because it appeared that all there was was oysters. My husband on the other hand, was very happy.

Enter in our waitress, Rachel. She was outstanding. She walked us through the menu, explaining as she went along. We had an enjoyable meal and a great experience due to an exemplary waitress.

It took time to discuss the menu with us but Rachel was patient and knowledgeable. My husband knows about all of these oysters, the rest of us had no idea about the nuances of the menu.

The food is fabulous. We had appetizers, a seafood tower, (I highly recommend it!), and varied other menu items. We left full and happy. Rachel helped make our "culinary seafood tour" memorable.

You can't go wrong with this place. Ask for Rachel.

Thank you to the chefs and Rachel. We highly recommend this restaurant. Wow.

Had dinner here recently and really enjoyed it. Previously had sat upstairs and it was very noisy. The noise level downstairs is much better. The service was good and we shared several items. First had the mushroom panzanella with goat cheese and hazelnuts - delicious! Also had the mackerel pate and then the grilled shrimp, all tasty. The prices are basically downtown Charleston prices, not cheap but the quality is excellent.

The Ordinary is a beautiful restaurant, the service from the front door to the bartenders was excellent! We just stopped in on a Tuesday night for Lobster rolls and oysters, sat at the bar. There were a lot of specialty cocktails to choose from, and the lobster roll was great. Dessert was wonderful!! I can't wait to have a full meal here!

This place came highly recommended from a friend who is a "foodie" and by our B&B management. We were only able to get a 930PM reservation but we arrived early and sat at the bar. We had some wonderful rum drinks, each were different and very good. The food was awesome. Overall, this was a great experience for us and was our favorite dinner of our trip

After a wonderful day visiting homes and gardens in Charleston, and eating, eating, eating(!) all day, we were very tempted to call it a night and just skip dinner. However, having held a reservation at The Ordinary for a month, we felt like we needed to regroup and soldier on, and, wow, are we glad we did.

The bustling energy as we walked in for our 7:45 reservation helped wake us up from our earlier food coma, and then we were lucky enough to be seated at a table with Olivia taking care of us. She immediately understood that we were not interested in a prolonged dining experience; we wanted to try some wonderful samplings of what make The Ordinary NOT Ordinary(!) and then make it home to our hotel for an early evening of watching the Sweet 16 of NCAA college basketball.

Per her wonderful suggestions, we enjoyed daiquiris, and then we loved the steak tartare, oyster sliders, snapper crudo, and then coconut cream pie for dessert. Not only was there no pressure to order more than what we wanted, Olivia seemed to really understand and appreciate what we were looking for in our dining experience.

Perfect!
