This hotel is perfectly located near Coligny Beach, Shopping and Restaurants. The hotel lobby area is well appointed. The rooftop bar and pool area are great! Complimentary Parking is a plus. For these reasons this hotel definitely earns 4 stars.

Now for the negative. Realizing we are just coming out of a pandemic, I think we all should be a little more patient however, as noted in similar reviews...upon check in the front desk gentleman was not very pleasant and unwelcoming. Perhaps he had a bad day, perhaps he has been overworked as so many establishments are understaffed, perhaps he just hates his job. Not sure. Our room was okay...could have been a little cleaner and they were out of the soap dispenser in shower. When addressed, we were offered a couple of small face bar soaps. The next day I was able to get some from the maid as well as additional towels as there is no housekeeping. The shower had issues - lever did not work well to convert from bath to shower and it also drained poorly. This hotel certainly has the potential to be great. Sadly, not cleaning the rooms as often as they should due to COVID, the rooms are beginning to show signs of wear and tear far to soon for a new hotel.

Nicest feature at this hotel is the rooftop bar which gets an awesome breeze. Shout out to Deb the bartender who had a personality plus and provided awesome service.

Nice property, great location, but everything else leaves lots of room for improvement. Front desk staff was rude over the phone before arrival, and then upon arrival we were asked to sit and wait until they finished doing something else before we could check in. Have never, ever, been asked to do that at a hotel before. Upon entering the room, there was a crushed beer can inside the nightstand drawer, no shower gel, and no conditioner. After asking for more at the front desk, we were questioned about how much we really needed and how many nights we were staying. We had to grab toilet paper and towels off a cart in the hallway because the front desk was either rude or not there. On all occasions we wanted something at the lobby bar, there was no one there to serve as for at least five minutes. Finally, there was, what appeared to me to be, an unsanctioned letter from management saying that you could only have your room cleaned if you stayed more than a week. It was not on official Marriott letterhead, and did not have any names attached to it. Very unprofessional note, not to mention grammatical errors being present in the letter.

Over all, very very disappointed, would not return. Have never experienced such terrible service at a Marriott, or at any other hotel during Covid.

Great location - very quick walk to the beach and close to lots of shopping and food options. The rooms are quite large and new. Our room was the first one after the elevators so it was really loud. I also didn’t find the staff to be very friendly at all.

Room tip: Ask for a room far down the hall

Recently stayed here for a couple days.

> The location is unbeatable.
> it’s a brand new hotel with well-thought out features. Like the desk is on rollers, outlets in the nightstands, and an extra large chair that pulls out for sleeping.
> Bar and pool upstairs on the rooftop with the most AMAZING view.

The rooftop is what sets the hotel apart from its competitors. Even on the hottest days the breeze was always fantastic for having a drink in the shade. At night they have fire “pit/tables”! I also was impressed that they had a happy hour from 3 to 6. Rare to find in Hilton head. The amount of people congregating at the bar and pool were limited as it required a key card to use the elevators.

Also, a stand out feature of this hotel is the bistro and lobby space. Different corners/areas to hang out whether you want to have quiet space or be in the center of everything. Take note of the booths with TVs or the larger area with a big TV. Great for hanging out and waiting for somebody to finish getting ready or maybe waiting on a cab and friends to arrive.

With rental car and gas prices high this would be a choice hotel to stay where you can walk to dining and the beach.

This review is specifically for customer service, notably Becca. Becca swooped in when a neighboring hotel misled us on handicapped accommodations. A late in the day call to Courtyard by Marriott was answered by Becca , who works at the hotel itself, which was pleasant, as I was prepared to be re routed a call center. After hearing of our dilemma Becca offered to take pictures of the room we would be renting to confirm it fit our needs. She didn’t rely on stock photos of the room and instead took her own. This gave my family incredible comfort. Her compassion was a needed relief and the room exceeded expectations and met true ADA compliance. Thank you for having such a kind and accommodating employee.
