On 7/11/2017 I played a round of golf with family and friends.

White the club and course seemed fine, there was a terrible sewerage smell permeating at around 1/2 of the holes. We later found out that the course applied chicken manure. It was horrible and it attracted bugs which were horrible.

Also the sand traps didn't have any loose sand!!

We very much enjoyed playing here. The staff were amazing when we arrived and treated us "white gloves"...

This is one of the best courses we've played on the Grand Strand. Every aspect of it from tee to green is in excellent shape. The fairways are fairly wide and forgiving, but position is still important on many holes. Water comes into play on some holes, but there is always enough bail-out room to avoid it. There are numerous traps guarding some greens, but they are well-placed and there is always at least one clear approach to each green. The greens themselves putt very true and are not crazy fast like on some courses. A good challenge, but not overly hard for the average player. My wife found it challenging but not excessively so from the forward tees. I think any level golfer would enjoy it.
Staff was all very friendly, although the bag drop seemed a bit disorganized. Club house is very nice. A little pricey, but worth at least one visit. Overall, a very pleasant experience and we hope to play it again some time.

Founders club has done a lot of right with this course. The grandaddy is a fantastic course, and when you get to the clubhouse, your mouth will drop. At least mine did...

I would recommend this course to all golfers, one for the history, two for the challenge. I didn't like that it was a par 70 (only 2 par 5s), so it makes the course a lot longer.

Nice course. Played each of last 3 years here. Well kept course. Replay rates are high. Should cut golfers a little break playing an additional 9 holes in the afternoon.
