We recently stayed here for a family vacation. Four families with children stayed in 2-2bedroom rooms. It was located in a convenient location but we rented a van and had to drive to all activities outside of resort and all dinners. About 10-15min from Broadway area. The pools were nice- numerous options including a pool for kids with a water slide and pool volleyball. You could swim late at night as well which was fun. There was a pool bar and cafe for food; however, they closed at the main pool at 9 and minimal poolside service with waitstaff. Wish they had a bar open later at the resort. There is a bar at the main hotel but not at ocean dunes. Staff were friendly. Kids participated in daily events including painting pottery (which was an extra charge). There was complimentary sundaes or ice cream almost every day.
A few changes- on the beach- this is not owned by Marriott. So if you want chairs have to rent them. This was weird because the lifeguards were also in charge of the chairs/umbrellas- (doesn't seem like a safe set up). Would be nice if Marriott included beach chairs for those who flew in to resort and did not bring their own. There are a lot of BBQ grills around property, ping pong, shuffle board, small putting green, playground and fire pits.
Our biggest complaint was there should be a lot more hooks in the bathroom/rooms to hang towels. Also there are no pool/beach towels at the pool, you have to bring them down from your room and get them exchanged-- This was extremely inconvenient and annoying. We constantly had a pile of wet towels in the room. This should really just be moved down to the pools. At times it was hard to get chairs by the pool as guests hoard and save them. The food at the pool cafe was completely average, chicken looked like fake, frozen chicken with artificial grill lines- all could have been better. Bar drinks fairly expensive. Had a nice ocean view from balcony. Rooms were modern and clean- again needs more hooks. One night we ordered delivery from outside Italian restaurant- which was better than food we had on resort.

Room Tip: ask for beach view

Stayed at 2 bedroom villa with full-kitchen facilities, the newly renovated room was so nice to stay. There are so-called daily activities provided by the hotel you may join, some menu should enjoyable for you too. It was my 2nd time visit to Myrtle Beach then this was my first visit in winter and first time to this hotel. The high season should be Summer time here but Myrtle beach in wintertime is a right time, right place to spend a good calm vacation period for adults without kids. Walking down to the beach directly from the hotel, the Myrtle beach in the winter time, not cold at all, was so beautiful. Fitness gym is well prepared and indoor pools works fine to spend holiday afternoon also in winter time. Popular super market Publix is in walking distance which makes the prepared and well maintained full kitchen facilities really a meaningful thing. I definitely coming back here, if possible preferable in wintertime.

This was our 13th consecutive year going to this resort. The rooms were newly renovated and more updated. The property was nice as always. My only complaint was there were a couple of lifeguards on the Woodsy Pool slide who were not friendly. They made comments about the incoming storms so they could leave. We had really good lifeguards in years past. The kids activities were all very good as always. I would recommend staying here especially since the rooms are remodeled.

First time here. Very nice, clean and awesome views of the ocean. Residents very friendly. The staff are very helpful and professional.
Great choice of restaurants within short driving distance. Best of all, no crazy traffic.
Definitely above expectations and would do it again.

Our first time staying here with our son's family and it worked out great. Even though the weather was rainy at times there were so many activities for the kids ( ages 8 and 6 yr old twins) that there was always something to do. It is right on the beach so we had 4 pools or the ocean to choose from. My granddaughter asked if we could come back next summer-a sure sign it was a hit.
The villas are large and comfortable, everything you'd expect from Marriott.
