We loved our guided tour through the Caverns! Very fascinating and neat to hear the stories. Loved our guide Josie for pointing out the neat imagination things and giving us plenty of giggles.

We visited Bristol Caverns over spring break this year for something to do after the Creeper Trail. It is off the beaten path for sure; we almost drove by it. It is a small little gift shop/building off the backroad highway- which is great because we did not have to wait in ANY lines! There were maybe 6 of us total who took the tour ~ a few people trickled in right before we started. Our tour guide was wonderful- very knowledgable and let us go at our own pace. Unlike other caverns we have visited, there was not another group right on our heels, so we didn't have to rush through. It was like having the entire cavern to ourselves. I think this is worth the drive to experience this amazing cavern first hand without all the tourists!

Visiting a cavern was on my bucket list. Unfortunately, my friend and I both use canes and have breathing problems. Bristol Caverns had the fewest steps of those I reviewed, had handrails, and seemed doable. We couldn't have been more pleased. The tour guide, Josie, was knowledgeable, pleasant, and considerate. She made every effort to give us time to climb the steps, and allowed us to rest as needed. It was worth the effort. The formations are spectacular. We were lucky that we were the only two on the tour. I'm afraid if we had been on one of the 3 large tour groups that followed us, we would not have been able to keep up. If you have health issues as we do, you might want to call ahead to see if you can arrange a tour by yourselves. Ask for Josie: she's excellent.
