This was a nice stop with the kids. Informative and beautiful. It starts with an elevator ride down into the cave, followed by a walk through sometimes slippery pathways chiseled through the mountain. Not for the claustrophobic or disabled! The sights are very interesting. Glad we came early since the line was long when we came out. Well worth the time and money.

If you have children, are a spelunker, or just enjoy a beautiful sight, Ruby Falls is worth it. I recommend going during the spring, fall, etc; However, Summertime visits you might go early then on to Rock City, Incline Railway...

Hi Steve B,
Thanks for your kind words! Arriving before 9:00 AM or after 5:30 PM is a great tip.

We are very excited to begin providing tours with timed entry tickets in the late spring/early summer. Guests will be able to select the date and time they want to check-in for their tour which will eliminate long wait times on peak visitor days and improve the flow of guests in the cave. We can't wait for the completion of our new venues, bringing a new range of guest amenities that will make a visit to Ruby Falls even more enjoyable.

Thanks again for sharing your experience!

Go early or plan on long wait. Got there about 9 am on Saturday morning, during spring break, got in to cavern quickly but still didn't get out till about 11 am. Line very, very long when we finished.
Still, very enjoyable visit for this "Medicare Pair". Easy walking. Over half mile in and back.
If over 5' 8" tall plan on ducking frequently. Don't wear sunglasses on top of cap. Probably going to scratch them on overhead rock.
Would come back again with grand kids.
