We really enjoyed our dinner at G&C but there were a couple of things we found unusual. We arrived 7 minutes early for our 7 pm reservation. The hostess picked up menus and was in the process of showing us to a table when we mentioned the reservation. She checked the computer and then told us she couldn’t seat us until 7. There were plenty of empty tables and she actually did seat us 2 minutes early but the whole episode seemed strange. The second thing we found unusual was that relatively early on a Friday night they were out of two of the eight entrees on the menu, and precisely the two I was interested in. It’s not clear how they would get through the weekend with such poor planning. These concerns aside, the food was very good, as was the service. By eastern Tennessee standards this was a very nice place to have dinner.

Nice atmosphere with great dishes. Cozy little bar and friendly service. Little more expensive to be expected, but worth it.

We planned a special birthday dinner and were truly pleased. Our style is to go slowly, even taking the appetizers one at a time as separate courses. So...here's the dinner - course by course..1. plentiful Sapphire martinis, 2. lobster flatbread with uni butter, 3. one dozen fresh oysters, 4. bottle of Australian viognier, 5. entrees - veal chop & scallops, 6. chocolate bread pudding, 7. press coffee, and 8. a sambuca. Menu and prep are creative and local sourced high quality. The room has good seating and "not so good" spaces, so I would suggest booking early and asking for a table along the far wall. We noticed that some servers were very knowledgeable about the recipes, and others were not as familiar with the ingredients.

I dined on the patio recently. Very enjoyable. The chicken Cobb salad is very good. It included Three Graces cheese which is excellent.

A surprisingly classy place in a little strip mall. They have an amazing chef. The prices are a little steep compared to most restaurants, but the chef's work is worth the price! Try the corn bread appetizer with sourgum butter. Yum! My wife had the filet. (She literally cut it with her fork!) I had the snapper. To die for! Service was excellent. Don't pass this up due to the outside appearance!
