My husband and I found ourselves in Dalkey and where feeling peckish. We looked at the menu of a couple of casual places and decided to settle on The Corner Note. We ordered the pulled pork ciabatta and the home baked ham and brie on crusty white. Both where absolutely delicious and so fresh. Coffee was great and staff friendly. We sat outside which added to our enjoyment. Will certainly return.

Situated in the heart of Dalkey, this cafe has a real warmth. Family run with good coffee and fresh ingredients, this is a little oasis of calm.

Stopped in out of the biting January winds to an open fire and very cosy atmosphere. Like a snug in former times. Mid morning and it was fairly busy. Free wifi was handy too. Delicious pastries to go with coffee.

The Corner note is in a lovely situation. The food and coffee are good but the noise from the man banging around the coffee machine is unbelievable. You can't relax. It is like being in the middle of a building site. He consistently banged and whacked parts of the coffee machine around completely oblivious of the racket he was making. At first I thought they were repairing something with hammers! Too noisy for a return visit

Not sure what to make of Bait. It is essentially the Corner note cafe illuminated by candles. Cosy would be a nice way of describing it, crammed would be a more cynical view. There are a lot of tables in a very limited space. Atmosphere was buzzy, possibly too loud for some.
The menu is good but not particularly cheap, especially when you consider the environs.
Our meal was fine, however there was a considerable delay between the starter and the main course - 45min +, so it was well after 10pm when we finished eating. In fairness, the place was packed.
We plan to give it another bash. I'd certainly rate it ahead of the Guinea Pig.
