What can I say? It was lovely. Carmel met us upon our arrival with a friendly welcome and a chat, not to mention the delicious apple pie/tart and other treats. The history of the cottage is rich and heart warming. Very cozy, clean and welcoming. Much larger than it looks from the picture! The village of Spiddal was also wonderful. Several great places to eat and a wonderful local resteraunt/pub (Tigh Giblin) with great tradional Irish music sessions. The food was excellent. Had several wonderful evenings there! Very convenient to Galway for shopping and night life as well. I just adored the cottage and highly recommend it. I know I will be back. Thanks for everything, Carmel. We miss your lovely cottage already!
Picture postcard cottage. Tigh Lal is very well located in the heart of Spiddal village with everything on your door step. The cottage has all mod cons but still keeps all it's traditional charms. Carmel and Martin are perfect hosts, so helpful!!
Tigh Lal is a beautiful cottage in a village so full of character and so many friendly local people. It is basically the beginning of the Connemara region which is breathtakingly beautiful. We enjoyed a few pints of Guinness while being entertained by many wonderfully talented musicians at Tigh Giblin. The cottage was inspiring and cosy, Carmen friendly and hospitable. We hope to return again one day. Thank you so much.
Just back from a week in Lals Cottage. Delighted with our choice of holiday rental. Gorgeous grounds and kept so well .Spiddal is a lovely little village with the beach nearby, craft village to potter around and only 15 min drive to the great city of Galway. Carmel is a wonderful host and couldn't have been more helpful.. From the lovely home baking to just being available for any queries we would have.Would definitely recommend ! Bring your camera!
Just got back fom a week in this lovely cottage and what a great welcome we got from the owners. Everything there for us including a plate of homebaked cakes and scones with a pack of butter. Also coffee, tea bags, sugar and milk.
The cottage was well presented and imaculate and the owner provided tea towels and towels. It is well located in the village and close to Spar shops, petrol station, pubs and beach and its also on a bus route to take you into Galway which we did twice as its a lovely city. The people of Spiddal are very friendly and we were made really welcome in the pubs and shops.
I recommend this property very highly for anyone who wants this type of holiday.
Many thanks to Carmel, Martin and Brendon for making our holiday so enjoyable.
