“Nice couple of hours”
Review of Rathbeggan Lakes

Went for Easter hols. Nice enough morning. €3 pp to get in but then you had to pay for extras ie €5 pp for bouncy castle etc. I suppose you'd get better value for money if it was summer time and you could bring a picnic. Lots of lovely picnic areas with BBQ. Walk around was nice but short.

This is a lovely place to spend a few hours on a nice sunny day. Beautiful lake walk and lots of picnic tables which is nice. It has got quite expensive now new attractions. The day we visited there were no ponies to ride on. Only 2 goats, 2 sheep, hens, ducks and rabbits. If the children are very young they'll be happy to feed the animals and go on the bouncy castle, which costs €5 per child. For older children the climbing wall and zip wire will cost you more. Add in a boat ride and an inflatable sphere to walk across the lake and the money really starts to add up. I think it's lost some of its charm which is a pity. The toilets were not clean and hand dryers were not working either. Talking to other mothers there, they were a bit disappointed this year. We visit every year and although the children enjoyed themselves, it's an expensive day out.

Went today with my wife and son he is 5 years old. It's a nice place to go and has enough stuff for kids to do. Worth a visit

Went here today to finish off the school holidays. It's easy to find and the entry fee was OK. Thought the attractions were a bit expensive though, especially as I had two boys with me. 10e for a bounce is expensive, it has no time limit but as it was cold we didn't stay to long. So not great value for money. The walk around the lakes is quite nice but the fairy garden is tired and needs updating. The toilets were below par on cleanliness and need a total refurb, water stains and smell weren't too welcoming. However the kids enjoyed themselves, there was plenty of picini areas and we would return. Some advice, bring extra shoes and socks for all.

Could be a lovely spot to spend a few hours but you leave feeling you've been robbed. The place seems to be all about squeezing the max out of everyone who walks in. An example....paid €10 to book an in-situ BBQ only to realise you have to bring your own charcoal. Asked about buying one of the disposable BBQs they had for €6 and was told I couldn't get the €10 refunded so the BBQ was now costing €16!
The prices of the individual activities are too high. €7 for a go on the zipline is just too much imo. Parts of the walkway look neglected and it seems the emphasis is on the areas that make the money.
As for the 'fishing'.....what a joke! The lakes are all really shallow and weedy.
All in all a real disappointment and I think if this place was further away from Dublin they would struggle to survive with the product on offer.
