We booked to celebrate a 50th Wedding Anniversary and Bansha Castle literally "ticked all the boxes" for us. There was plenty of space to chill out and converse, and also space to spread ourselves around the house. Great chats at the kitchen table, room for everyone at the dining table and comfy seating in the sitting room area to lounge about on. On reflection, it was great to stay somewhere really comfortable and well-appointed, that was entirely ours for our time there. We self-catered for some of our stay and the kitchen provided us with everything we needed (included a cake mixer - should you feel so inclined!). The outdoor barbeque area was a fantastic area and the snooker table provided a platform for conversation/competition! The bedrooms each had their own individual feel and were quite soundproof for the early to bed people (ie. me). We really enjoyed the fabulous meal that Teresa and John served up to us on the Saturday night and they were truly warm, welcoming and charming hosts. Thank you Teresa and John!

Bansha Castle is a beautiful and absolute stunning castle with both old-fashioned furnishing and decoration and modern facilities.
The lovely hosts Teresa and John were very kind answering a lot of questions via e-Mail to organise the stay for my family and us.
You can really see and feel how much love and warmth the two put into this beautiful castle as every room is full of unique details. We didn´t miss anything - we were able to cook, to have a BBQ outside and to iron shirts. We played snooker and sat by the fire.
Although the hosts live "next door" you don´t hear anything and they respect your privacy 100 percent but are there for you for emergency.

We stayed 4 nights with 14 persons and really did not pay a lot comparing to other hotels where we would have been spread. In the castle we were able to accomodate ourselves and spend time together and still having the privacy in the bed rooms.

My family and I were very sad to leave this beautiful and very special place and are planning to come back soon! We loved everything!

Room Tip: The room on the top floor is the prettiest although every room is gorgeous really...

We spent a week at Bansha Castle with our grown children and their children, a group of 8 adults and 6 children. The Castle makes a wonderful impression when you first see it across the expansive front grounds. After entering through the large front door, you find yourself in an entry room with the colorful original tile floor. Beyond that is the wide staircase leading upstairs, and off to the side are the sitting room, snooker room, dining room and kitchen. There are heavy doors that prevent noise from carrying up to the bedrooms, helpful when you have several generations sharing the space. The seven very large bedrooms provided plenty of comfortable space for everyone, and the country kitchen was well equipped. We enjoyed morning coffee and evening dinners in the walled garden space, using the gas grill for some of those dinners. At one special dinner, we put two tables end to end to accommodate all 14 of us in the elegant dining room. We had family soccer games on the spacious front lawn. And the snooker games lasted well into the evening. The castle provided a luxurious space for a wonderful family vacation. And Bansha was a good base, with Kilkenny, Kinsale, Blarney, Waterford, and Bunratty all an hour to hour and a half away, and Cahir and Cashel quite close by. Teresa and John are thoughtful and considerate hosts; there was a bowl of fruit on the kitchen table when we arrived. Everyone felt pampered, and my husband and I were repeatedly thanked for providing the stay. One couple even dropped their planned activities for one day to relax and just enjoy being at the Castle. Our week at Bansha is one we'll remember fondly always.

I do not write this lightly. When you spend your time here...In this beautiful fortress of memory, heart and hearth you will experience something more akin to your first glimpse of starlight or the cool breath of the world as it calms a fatigued soul. I was married in place of wonder; married beneath the embrace of the crimson tree in the front...surrounded by family, friends...my wife. You cannot possibly understand how warm, how comforting and ethereal a place this is unless you stay here. All chill will be warmed by fire, you will be kissed by wind and rain, sun will shine through your curtains and beckon you to explore. Stay here...I implore you. Understand the beauty of this place and carry the precious memory with you...as I do.
