Major disappointment for a quality hotel restaurant. What was meant to have been our anniversary meal turned out to be a huge let down.

It didn't start well being asked to wait 15 minutes to be seated when the restaurant was mostly empty. It was only after asking again did we get seated. Apologies were given but no explanation as our table seemed ready all along.

Then the limited menu was even more limited with 3 out of the 5 starters not available as they had run out (It was Easter but a hotel of this calibre should not readily run out of all the main starters part way through a holiday weekend). So it ended with my partner having one of the starters available and me not having anything except bread rolls.

The main courses were nothing special. The duo of pork had been made a mono of pork by the kitchen after running out of the pork croquets that were described on the menu. No one had told the waiting staff that the substitute 'pork' would be two crackling sticks. The Sea Bass I had was not exactly anything special and both dishes were slightly off the hot.

We complained but while apologies were offered there was no attempt to make amends, We left without opting for dessert having finished within 40 minutes! So much for a romantic anniversary meal.

We would not recommend this restaurant for a meal during holiday weekends as it simply can't offer everything on their menu. The bar meals were better with a wider choice of dishes and seemed to have most things available.

As we were staying at the hotel we decided to eat in the restaurant on our first night and although the food was better than average, the portions were on the small side and the service slow even though there were only a few customers.
We had hoped to have the chef's recommended shellfish platter but due to the weather there was limited seafood available (no lobster!) so we settled for the set menu. The Belly of pork was very tasty but the portions were very small (tiny if you don't like the fat!) but the main courses of grilled fish and steak were well cooked and presented and my wife particularly enjoyed the accompanying scallops for her dish.

We arrived st the restaurant about 7.45pm, there appeared to be only a couple of tables occupied. The waiter told us we would need to wait 15 minutes for a table. We waited in the bar for 30 minutes & finally asked one of the bar staff to check if there was a table available. Apparently there was, although no one bothered to tell us. We ordered our food & waited a while. It was Luke warm on arrival & nothing special for the price. Underwhelming!

Extensive buffet menu for 'brekkie'. Everything you would want and always fresh and tasty. Not on show? ask the obliging staff and the chances are high that you will get what you want.
The evening meals are more 'nouveau cuisine'. Very pretty, excellent quality, but expensive for the tiny offerings. I came away hungry, so not such good value, in my books

Enjoyed a fab evening here celebrating a friends birthday. Lovely food from the a la carte menu and great service which was attentive without being obtrusive. Guilleme (manager) is a true professional and makes sure that your evening is truly excellent.
