We stayed here for 4 days in October. A lovely hotel which was very clean and fresh throughout. Bedroom we stayed in was spacious and had a comfortable bed . Bathroom was clean and fresh towels were supplied every day even though we had them on towel rail to be used again. Room decor was fine although one or two holes in walls. TV was on the small side which is unusual in most hotels we stay in these days no bigger than 14 inch.
The hotel staff were very friendly and polite. We were booked for Bed and Breakfast and I must say the breakfasts were superb. Always plenty of choice hot or cold . We had meal in the bar one night and also had 3 course dinner on our final night which again were excellent and was a reasonable price.
We never used pool or jacuzzi etc which was free to use for all hotel guests so can't comment on them .
Hotel is situated about a 10 minute walk to centre of St Helier and promenade where there is plenty of bars and restaurants to chose from.
Our only complaint about our stay would be how hot it was in the hotel . Our bedroom was so hot and throughout the bar and restaurant areas it was very warm also. This was October so normally it might be cooler but I'd hate to think what it would be like in July and August. So maybe some air conditioning would be good.
Enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back again.

Very friendly staff,The room was very good, comfortable bed which is always important,I did use the indoor pool a few times, which is an added bonus.I didn’t eat in the restaurant in the evenings, but i had a few drinks in the bar it seemed to be quite busy. The breakfast was very good,it couldn’t be faulted.I did take advantage of the free parking.all in all a very pleasant stay and good value.

We enjoyed out stay at the Monterey and found it to be good value for money. The room was spacious and the breakfast was excellent. It's a little out of the centre, but only 15 minutes walk. The staff were very efficient and friendly. Yes, you could have more luxury with a 4 star or 5 star hotel, but if you just want abase to visit St Helier and the island itself this hotel will more than meet your requirements.

I have been visiting the Monterey Hotel since 2002 the outside could do with painting, the rooms are clean but some rooms need to be looked at.

I don't know if the chef has changed because the menu was not as good as previous years

I would like to mention some of the staff who are very good at there job they are Gergely on reception, Victor in the bar, Fatima in the resturant and Diana the Manageress.

We went on a day trip round the island and we had a lovely day and the coach driver was excellent his name was dougie and he really made the trip enjoyable.
