“Amazing Views and Location, Superb Host and Very Relaxing”
Reviewed 31 March 2014 for a stay in August 2013

The appartment is in an excellent location with a two minute walk down to a lovely beach. The views from the windows and garden are wonderful and make you really feel like you are on holiday. Gill provides a lovely welcome on arrival and is always very helpful throughout the stay. The beach is great for everyone with sand and rockpools and the causeway across to the island provides fun for all. The appartment is clean and snuggly. We always look forward to returning here for our holidays.

We've had the pleasure of welcoming this lovely family for the last 2 years. It's always a surprise to see how the delightful children have grown since last year. We'll see them back for their 3rd year in their usual slot in August.

“Our Secret Haven.”
Reviewed 24 March 2014 for a stay in August 2013

Bigbury on Sea is our favourite place to come for our family holiday. The Garden apartment overlooks amazing views. We like space and privacy on holiday and this spectacular garden ticks all the boxes. If you have children it is so convenient to get to the beach which is down a little path at the bottom of the garden, then you cross the road and you are on the beach. You don't need to fill the car up with all the beach equipment. If you forget something or your little one needs a nap you can just pop back up to the apartment. The post office down the road serves great freshly baked soft rolls for your pack lunches. Gill the proprietor is so welcoming and the children love her. We will be back this year, our fifth time and we can't wait.

It's always a pleasure to welcome this delightful family back each year and to see the children grow. I love seeing them running around our large secure garden, leaving their parents free to read or sunbathe. Jordan is a fantastic footballer and we've known Phoebe since she was born, a real little character! We'll look forward to seeing them again in August.

“Beautiful location with a welcoming host”
Reviewed 23 March 2014 for a stay in September 2013

This is a superb location with beautiful views of Bigbury Bay, easy access to the beach and lovely local walks. We have been coming to Bigbury on Sea for the past thirty years and this is one of the best locations in which to stay.
Gill is a welcoming, caring host; nothing is too much trouble. Thank you Gill for your welcome and many kindnesses.

We have spent a really enjoyable fortnight in this holiday apartment for the last two years and hope to spend many more holidays here in the future.

It's been great having Mary & Nigel and their family stay with us for the last 2 years and are looking forward to seeing them all for their usual fortnight in September. Mary and her family have built up a special infinity with Bigbury-on-Sea over the last 30 years which is shared by many other returning holiday makers.

This super family has been part of our core of loyal returning Guests for many years and it's been a pleasure to see their sons grow into very successful young men. Last year was the parents 25th Anniversary and they decided to go back to Hawaii where they'd had their honeymoon, taking the boys with them They felt this would mean missing out on their usual September holiday in The Garden Apartment. However, fortunately they decided it wouldn't be the same if they didn't come to Bigbury as usual. We're looking forward to seeing them again this year, their 16th!

“Everything one could ever want from a holiday location”
Reviewed 17 March 2014 for a stay in December 2013

We stayed at The Garden Apartment for a week in November following a fantastic visit earlier in the Summer of 2013. It is simply the most perfect location to let the stresses of life fade away into a distant memory. Gill the proprietor, who is a fantastic host , made sure that our every need was catered for and guided us on all the great things to do and see in beautiful Bigbury on Sea and beyond. The visit in the Summer was our first visit to the area and we wonder how such a superb beach has remained undiscovered to us for so long. It was a perfect venue for the perfect family holiday. The Winter visit, whilst equally enjoyable, introduced a whole new aspect of tranquility and calm owing to the reduced visitor numbers. We so enjoyed the long walks with the children collecting all sorts of "treasure" washed up from the high seas. Although a little more bracing than the Summer visit, the welcome from Gill at The Garden Apartment more than warmed our hearts. Whatever you are looking for, it is likely you'll find it here.

It's always super to hear from Guests who have enjoyed our beautiful area
in both Summer and Autumn. The South Hams and surrounds have so much to offer all year round. During the quieter months the whole atmosphere changes. No traffic problems, no parking worries, Restaurants and Pubs are uncrowded and put on fantastic Specials at attractive prices and everything is generally more laid back. An ideal venue as a stress buster. Wander along the deserted beach, get out the fishing rod and catch the odd Bass, which abound in our waters and maybe you might just be lucky enough to see a pod of Bottlenose Dolphins. Why travel 9,000 miles to Florida when we have them on our doorstep. You'll be snug and warm in the Garden Apartment as we are an all year round location offering 3 night/4 days Short Breaks.
