On the rocks Smokehouse & Grill
Ranked #25 of 117 Restaurants in Brixham
Description: On The Rocks Smokehouse & Grill is proud to bring you fresh local produce, which has been jam packed with smokey flavours. We are smoking and slow cooking our dry aged and free range meats and fresh Brixham seafood in our American style wood pellet fired smoker. Then we will be cooking on open flames in our charcoal and wood burning BBQ Pit. All of this to give our food the best BBQ flavour.

For a restaurant that has been opened for about 6 weeks, the entire experience from the decor through to front and back of house service was nothing short of excellent. The view wasn't too bad neither, nestled right in the front of the harbour.

Chef knows his meat and presentation whilest the front of house knows how to deliver.

This is the second restaurant by these guys and I look forward to trying the other in Torquay, it when we're back next we will certainly be eating here again.

Guys, DONT change ANYTHING, you have a winning formula.

Thank you all for a great eating experience.

Visited for a meal recently and was really impressed with the food.
I had a crab mac and cheese which was very nice.
My smoked brisket was amazing.
A great place with friendly staff.
Would highly recommend.

Really impressed to see Brixham offering something other than fish and chips or a solely seafood oriented menu, think they've done well in recognising a need for something different. The decor and view out towards the Harbour were great.

We visited on a Tues night, and were still unable to be sat until after 9pm having been waitlisted. Staff were warm, but could have been slightly more attentive, three staff on for a full service, however, think maybe a fourth person on the floor would have been helpful.

Food - hugely disappointing to find everything doused in sour cream and American mustard. Had curried chickpea falafels, tasted a hint of garam masala but by no means did the dish stand out, as it was quite dry some minty yoghurt would have been nice as a dip or drizzled, however, it was sat on a huge dollop of sour cream. Chicken wings starter portion, no BBQ/ smokey flavour sadly but loads of sour cream. Garlic bread, very strangely served with sour cream. Ribs, no surprises, doused in sour cream. And a sticky pork dish, forget the exact name but again laden with sour cream and American mustard. The real shame was that we'd hoped for true blue smokehouse flavours, but this was definitely not the case, and whatever smokey flavour there was, was completely undone but the sour cream overdose.

Went into Brixham last night. Had seen this place advertised and had my 10% discount voucher from a Torbay holiday magazine but having read the trip advisor realised that these had been already withdrawn. Unperturbed we went, the menu looked amazing and prices reasonable. As a couple however we decided not to go in. I'm not old (40's) and am very much a music lover but going for a meal the music blaring out was just too loud to hold a conversation. Certainly not the place to celebrate a birthday with the wife.
Purely a subjective view and as previously stated I can't comment on the food. I can see it doing well if going in as part of a large group or eating alone but as a couple feel the background music was too loud for atmosphere.
