Went to the Parke park with a group of friends. Despite it being at a weekend there was plenty of place to park.

The walk down through the café area and onto the main path is delightful. As others have stated the "easiest" path is the track of an old railway so is very easy walking. We ventured off towards the river, picnicked and returned along the river.

Well worth a visit. We didn't sample the delights of the café as we had brought our own food, but it looked good.

....and a raging river Bovey to accompany our hike! Thoroughly enjoyed our hour or so wandering through this National Trust woodland.

Lots of land to walk with beautiful views. Paths flow down adjacent river in places and utilises the old railway line which has now become a cycle path.
The National Trust have their admin centre contained with Parke
House.
Their is a cafe providing good quality food, slightly higher priced for some items on menu.
Well used by dog walkers and families alike.
Carpark payable at top of Parke, run by National Trust i believe

A very pleasant afternoon walk around the estate. Some of the paths were waterlogged so we were unable to go on all of the waymarked route. Useful (free) parkland leaflet available in the estate yard where there is also a lovely cafe. The parkland is managed by the National Trust whilst the cafe is independently operated. There is a charge for car parking but National Trust members park for free if they scan their membership card at the ticket machine.
