Description: The Smugglers Inn provide a full lunch and evening menu alongside our famous 'Farmers Feast Carvery' every day of the week. Situated in the beautiful town of Dawlish in Devon, you can expect to be surrounded by stunning panoramic views of the ocean and the surrounding countryside. A view that is not to be missed. We are also home to some of the best Real Ales and cider on the market including Dartmoor Legend, Teignworthy Reel and our guest pump which changes on a regular basis. We also have a full wine list and a fantastic variety of soft drinks. There is something for everyone. If you would like to book a table with us you can do so in a number of ways: - Telephone: We don't always get a chance to pick up the phone, so please leave a detailed message. We go through our answer phone messages twice daily. - Email: We respond to emails every morning. NB Please don't assume that your booking is confirmed until we have confirmed until we have actually called you back. Thank you.

Perfect. Booked on line and it was so easy. I was able to request a table with a view. I was very impressed with the confirmation email and later a follow up reminder a couple of days before the event.
On arrival at The Smugglers we were greeted with a smile. We were a little early so ordered drinks but didn't wait long before being taken to our table, with a view.
The carvery has to be one of the best in Devon. The meat is excellent and the vegetable selection is superb. Great Yorkshire puddings too and the gravy is sublime.
If you have room... The dessert selection is very tempting.

Fantastic pub/inn serving excellent food from a very good menu and specials board, also a good restaurant and carvery serving local produced meats. Nick and staff are extremely friendly and nothing is too much trouble which ensures that you have an enjoyable time.

Our whole family booked here for my wife's 50th birthday last night . Right from the first phone call to reserve our table a couple of weeks back all went extremely smoothly . We had a confirmation e-mail ,which included our request for a window-table for our group so we had a sea view across the valley . A reminder was sent to us a couple of days before the event , and on arrival we were greeted by a very pleasant waitress who took us to our table. We had organised balloons , and brought a cake with us which the waitress said she would bring out when we were ready after the meal.
The choice of menu at this pub is very good , featuring popular varied pub fayre at very reasonable prices , and which includes vegetarian and gluten-free options.all with an average main course price of around £10 - £11. Most of us were attracted by the carvery ( £10.95 ) which had a choice of roast beef ( 2 stacks : one well done and one medium rare ), pork and turkey , plus a good choice of veg , all piping hot . A nice point to note with you want more at any stage during your meal.. Our very friendly waitress organised our drinks and timed the arrival of our carvery tickets so they would coincide with the arrival of the non-carvery orders.
We could not fault the service or the quality of the meals, as the Smugglers' definitely lived up to its reputation . The crowning glory of the celebration was the arrival of the candle-lit birthday cake , brought out by 2 waitresses singing "Happy Birthday" which other guests in the restaurant to join in. When the bill came, it was presented on a plate of chocolate mints , to round off a very pleasant evening .
I definitely recommend this venue. It's always popular , so we have learnt from previous visits to book in advance, but if you turn up "on spec" there is also the bar area with tables where food can be enjoyed . A great place to relax and feel valued and welcome . Can't fault it .
