It has all been said before in these reviews but so many people cannot be wrong and the praise given is quite justified. Rose Cottage provides everything you could possibly want for a very relaxing and peaceful retreat from the real world to unwind and enjoy the quiet and the exceptionally beautiful Devon countryside.

The cottage is private with it's own patio but also very much part of the small complex which is made up of the farmhouse and two other lets. The accommodation is very clean and exceptionally well equipped and the bedding is fresh and the mattress comfortable. The welcome hamper is exceptional and was very much appreciated. The bathroom is modern and although the shower is not the most powerful in the world the water was hot and plentiful. Piers, the owner, and Sue his wife were away when we arrived but everything was ready for us and his instructions on driving to the cottage were spot on. I would very strongly advise that you follow Pier's directions to the letter if visiting Cotmore Farm, deviate from his route and you will find yourself in roads barely wide enough for a bicycle let alone a car!

We spent a lot of time walking in the area and very much enjoyed the half hour wander, along narrow lanes, from the cottage into Beesands where we enjoyed a much needed pint at "The Cricket" a fabulous fish and chip supper at "The Brittania" where you can have a sit down meal or a take away, seriously excellent food and lovely friendly staff. If you are feeling energetic turn off the road at Beeson and follow the marked footpath to Torcross and then follow the sea path back into Beesands. The footpath from Beesands out to the lighthouse at Start Point is also not to be missed and not nearly as tough as you might think.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rose Cottage and congratulate Piers and Sue who provide a lovely holiday opportunity and who have developed the happy knack of always being available when you want them but never there when you are enjoying the peace and quiet. Animal lovers especially will have a great time with so many different varieties of birds around, I had never seen a Stonechat before, farm animals of all sorts and we saw seals and dolphins from the beach and of course the adorable Jack, we really miss him!

We received a very warm welcome after a very wet drive. Rose Cottage has been beautifully renovated and offers every amenity required, including a log burner for chilly evenings. The courtyard garden is relaxing to have meals or just enjoy the scenery. Cotmore Farm is a lovely environment to stay with a variety of very content farm animals. The owners, Sue and Piers, couldn't be more welcoming and helpful, and indeed we found the whole community incrsedibly friendly. There is a lot to do in the area with easy access to coastal walks and loads of beaches, Dartmoor and Kingsbridge Estuary.

A well equipped cottage with everything you could want for a relaxing few days away from work and busy life. A farm with pigs and newly born piglets, horses, chickens and geese and Jack the dog. Our hosts were nearby but we had a private garden, an ideal place for bird watching. A trip to Gara Rock beach only six miles away a real gem , fantastic views and lovely beach, pick a sunny day, you will not be disappointed. We will return again. Thank you to our hosts.

We only managed to spare a few days away, but wish it could have been more! This delightful cottage is set in a farm with 2 other lets (a barn and another cottage but all relatively private) tucked away down a quiet lane, but within easy reach of beautiful coastal walks and amenities.
Well equipped cottage, friendly hosts who were to hand when needed, yet left us alone to enjoy the peace and tranquillity.
Thoroughly recommended to those who want a quiet escape to a beautiful area of the Devon countryside, with the sea not far away.
