Just a quick trip out for a few plants plus a coffee turned into afternoon tea!! They offer a savoury tea (as an alternative to cream tea) which gives you cheese scones, butter, cheese and chutney. The scones were huge so my sister and I shared. Probably the best cheese scones we've had, very cheesy (sometimes you barely get the taste) so obviously good ingredients used. I know the restaurant uses local produce wherever possible, and the home-made chutney was excellent too. Will be back for more!
Service very good - you order at the counter then staff bring your order to your table so no struggling with trays yourself.

This place fits the mould of a mid-upper scale garden centre cafe. A good menu (although nothing too imaginative) and some good specials. Food is to a high standard, service was fast albeit a bit robotic. Today's cake selection was a bit limited - otherwise may have been tempted to give 5*.

We had lunch here. "Him" had a pork pie platter, I had a cheese and ham panini. Lovely food, accompanying salad unusual and very finely chopped. Bread on platter was very rustic and tasty. Service was a little slow but they were very busy. Lots of different areas to sit. Dog friendly. Plenty of places to see in garden centre: deli, glass workshop and dress shop. Also interesting China and gifts. Well worth a visit.

Popped in for lunch while plant buying. Ordered an open sandwich and a toastie with 2 soft drinks. Price was a bit steep but the service was good throughout and the surroundings were very peaceful.
Food tasted good and the coleslaw was tasty although there could have been more dressing with the salads.
We'll be back for the cream tea !

Found this after a walk from the south Devon website. Had a late lunch/afternoon tea, great service, great fresh food, not cheap but OK prices. Great setting quite dog friendly in good weather, and the scones were massive. A pleasing visit and find
