Arrived at the Swan after a soggy walk along the coast path. We received a warm welcome from the staff and some local customers who were all very friendly, We had lovely steak & kidney pie with fresh vegetables and the chicken & bacon burger. Both were great and washed down with our favourite beers by a proper log fire.
Will visit again when back in Abbotsbury.

Visited briefly from Bournemouth so fairly local as Dorset is our outdoor play ground. Friendly enough but definitely a local boys pub. Had two pints and left.

There are only two places to eat in Abbotsbury and we picked The Swan. We had the scampi and chicken pie which were OK, and the plum crumble and sticky toffee with spray cream which were both disappointing.
If were were back here we'd try the other place instead.

We happened upon this pub as we could not find parking in the village.

Ordered cottage pie and chicken pie. Not sure how mince can be grey but this time it was - tasteless and not nice at all. Both meals had veg which looked like it had been prepared by a child and judging by the screaming and messing around from the kitchen it probably was.

The pie looked like it had been bought from a supermarket - had 3 pieces of chicken in it - again the child's veg and the worse gravy I have ever tasted - cheap granule type - unfortunately the meal was smothered in it. Pie was raw underneath and burned on the crust - how can you do that.

The chairs in the restaurant are filthy - not dusted for a long time.

Old fella behind the bar was quite indifferent, Didn't eat our meal, we left it.

Stopped here with a group of friends on a Sunday walk. The Sunday roast was fabulous. Plenty of meat, veg and gravy. Just how I like it. Others in the party had various things off the extensive menu which they too found to be plentiful and of good value. All served at the same time which was amazing. Will defo visit again as all staff very friendly and welcoming.
