We booked our stay through the Irish Lankmark trust. We were able to stay in the actual Glenarm tower, which was absolutely beautiful and well worth it.

Walking the castle grounds was lovely and relaxing. It is a nice getaway from the hustle and bustle of this big city.

Enjoyed this trip but would agree with previous review when you compare free entrance to the Walled Garden Bangor and how well laid out it is - makes you ponder.
You can cover the Glenarm gardens in around 15 minutes. There is no access to the Castle and the Greenhouses are out of bounds. We took the opportunity to speak to some workers in the garden who were helpful. With a bit of investment and innovative thinking, this visit could be improved and be worth £6.

Excellent value in a beautiful setting. The staff are so friendly and polite and nothing is too much for them. The cost of the food is very reasonable and there is a good variety to choose from if you are only wanting a snack or a bite to eat. The background is breathtaking and it is well worthwhile taking a leisurely walk around the gardens - be surevto stop and look around the wee antique shop - not only will you be surprised by the excellent value but it is so quaint that it transcends you to those past long gone days

We have visited these gardens many times and this year again they are looking wonderful. However, we were rather disappointed with the tearoom which used to be one of the highlights of our visit. The self service system is very slow and muddled. The greatest disappointment however was seeing so many bought in cakes and biscuits. It is one of life's joys to find a tearoom which serves home baked produce rather than goods bought in from outside food suppliers but unfortunately this no longer applies to Glenarm Castle tearoom. This is a great pity.

I arrived at Glenarm Castle with an elderly friend. We first had coffee - which was nice but the accompanying pear and almond tart was served with a hollow where the pear should have been and seemed to be the remnants of an old tart and not part of the lovely looking tart displayed which had been the reason for ordering it. I was a guest so I did not want to make a fuss and complain. If I had been paying I would have!
We then went into the walled garden £6.00
Each. There was a small interesting kitchen garden. The green house was off limits to the public. There were several sections with brightly coloured plants- nice. The area with fruit trees was overgrown. The labelling of the plants was a bit haphazard. 'The family were at home ' so we were limited to the walled garden as no access to the ground around the castle. It rained and no where to shelter so hopped in the car and came home slightly annoyed .
I wasn't going to write a review until I went to Bangor Walled Garden yesterday.
Entrance is free. Paths and gardens are well kept and well provided with garden seats so my elderly friend could rest. The green house was open and had some interesting plants and was somewhere to shelter from the short shower there was.
It's a bit smaller but lovely.
I will not be returning to Glenarm .
