We just came back from an all to short weekend, the place is amazing, we stayed in a wee bothy, it was just what we needed, an escape from our busy lifes. Its tiny with kitchen dining and living room in one. A lovely fire and basket of turf and logs. The heating was on when we arrived too.

Its a great jumping off spot to explore the antrim coast. We did a brilliant walk around torr head. We were cold and wet getting back and so lit the fire and cooked a roast dinner and sipped irish whiskey. It was a perfect break for a couple, but with so many different accommodations it would suit any family size.
Thanks to Kate the owner, we cant wait to get come back

This was my second time staying here - first time to a house, this time to an apartment. As before it was very clean, well furnished and a comfortable place to stay. All the little extras are a lovely touch eg milk, tea and coffee. The owner is really helpful and friendly and gives a lovely welcome. The place is really quiet and grounds very well kept. The location is also good as it's really close to Ballintoy Harbour. Would definitely recommend.

On arrival the wee bothy was lovely and warm with the radiators on and a basket of wood for the fire ready. Lovely wee size and has all the kitchen facilities you would need for a weekend away. Great having a tv and DVD player and wifi as well. Absolutely beautiful view from the bedroom and kitchen. Would highly recommend for couples.

We have just returned from a 2 night stay and had our 5 month old baby with us. As its February we were literally the only people staying there so was very quiete which was perfect for us. We stayed in the downstairs apartment and was cozy and sufficient for a small family.unfortunately I found the bed very hard, creecky and uncomfortable a decent matress and I would of gave 5 stars.

The layout of the cottages and the courtyard makes it perfect for those with small children. If you have a little extra cash I'd highly recommend the manor house, we were lucky enough to get a look around and the view from it is AMAZING.

Its a shame you cannot walk to the red door tea room next to it via the private laneway which is much quicker and safer, there are signs everywhere saying no access instead you have to take the busy dangerous road which is not ideal with children and takes 3 times as long, maybe management could sort this out?

Will hopefully be back again!

Management response:Responded 13 February 2017

Thank you for your feedback it's most welcome as we try to do all we can to make your stay enjoyable and I'm glad you enjoyed the peace and quiet of McShane Glen at this time of year. We are unfortunately unable to do anything about access along the laneway in front of the cottages as it is a private laneway of a working farm.

Thanks again and hope to see you in the future !

Clare

Whether you want to go away as a couple, or in larger groups, McShane's Glen is a great place to stay.

We have just returned from our second trip, and will definitely be back. The location is stunning and the accommodation is great. You will have everything you need for your trip. And if you don't, I'm sure the owners would do whatever they could for you.

I would advise that if you want sea views, book Wee Bothy number 1, Big Bothy 2 and 4, or the Manor House (number 3).

Thanks again for a great stay.
