Sadly the list is rather long - Beds with springs that you could play a tune by moving around, have thrown away mattresses like this back in the 1960s, pillows that are coffee coloured through age or dirt, so flat that you needed to fold in half to use, one sheet had a hole in it, probably to match the hand towel with a hole in. Shower head did not work well - possible limescale in the holes, bathroom so tiny that each time you moved you would knock things over. The paperwork regarding electrical items having been checked showed next check due August 2012. Food - overcooked frozen veg, lumpy mashed potaotes (at least not instant) the fried bread was so greasy and soggy. However the fish and chips were very tasty. There is a great coffee shop next door to the hotel that serve delicious home cooked food. I did wonder if the better rooms were for other tours. Having said the above one of our tour was lucky with their room - the four poster bed room. The area is beautiful, the villageis lovely, toy museum very nostalgic and a lovely craft shop - just so sad that this hotel lets the village down. The staff at this hotel are great, very hardworking and do their best to help everyone s nothing bad to say about them.

Room Tip: the one with the 4 poster bed seems good - as shown on their website

Very warm welcome from friendly staff. Although arriving late, the receptionist was waiting for me and lead me to the room. Very spacious room. I had a lovely meal from the chef. After having a nice bath, I had a well sleeping. It's a beautiful traditional Scottish hotel.

Room 7.
Large room but tiny shower. Water doesn't drain and no room to wash properly. All fixtures and fittings were old and wobbly so could not store any items on the bathroom shelves as the lean was to much. Not amazingly clean.
the bar pub is a local drinking spot with very slow service a very limited menu and highly priced!
Nice location but other hotels within 500 yards are modern!
Staff ok when you can find them and feel privileged if you have an answer on the phone.
