Description: This small inauspicious fish restaurant is fast gaining nationwide recognition as one of the best and most exciting places to eat in Scotland. With a superb location & stunning sea views on the upper floor of the Calmac building on Tobermory pier, and their own fishing boat landing fresh local shellfish - its an experience not to be missed. Just turn up unannounced for lunch, but book in advance for dinner. Lots on offer for non fish eaters too.

Cafe Fish say the only thing frozen are their fishermen. Well, we have proof of that when a soaked and cold-looking fisherman stepped off a boat with a bucket of fish and took it straight to the kitchen.
Yes, the fish is that fresh and it is undoubtedly locally-sourced. Sadly, we had not done our homework and but luckily happened upon Cafe Fish by accident. The accident was that it started to rain heavily and we were standing next to the stairs leading to Cafe Fish.
We're grateful for the rain as it would have been a crime to leave this picture-postcard harbour village without visiting. It was the UK Fish Restaurant of the Year and Scotland's leading fish food outlet and it shows.
It is situated on the first floor of the ferry terminal and was formerly the ferry waiting room. It is unpretentious but has bags of atmosphere.
And the food? Sensational. My fish stew was out of this world, packed with content and flavour.
My wife's soup, lentil but not as you know it, was exceptional. Don't miss this place. It's been open for over a decade, remains family run and it is fun, boasting superb food.

We've tried a few times during rally week to get in here, it's always been busy. So we were delighted to get a table on Saturday night!

It's a small restaurant above the pier, booking essential at busy times.

Cafe Fish did not disappoint- the only problem was choosing what to have!! The Cafe has its own fishing boat so you can be sure everything is fresh...the night we are there were no velvet crabs or lobster, but to be honest there is so much to choose it wasn't a problem. We had Tapas (oyster, langoustine, crab claws) and I had langoustine - delicious!! I then had scallops with laksa curry sauce and rice....I had to refrain from licking the dish it was so nice. Fish pie was also delicious, and our friends had the spectacular roast platter. Puddings also good, beautiful home made waffles, I had ice cream with liqueur and espresso.

Service was great, cheerful young men in kilts, what's not to like!!

Dinner for four with drinks was just short of £200, and well worth every penny!! If you love fish you will love Cafe Fish.

Can't wait to return!

We ate here on our honeymoon trip to Mull. As people from the midlands in England it was such a treat to have such fresh seafood.

We had oysters, caviar and crab to start followed by the hot seafood platter. The tastiest oysters I have ever had.

Absolutely amazing. Would pay this place a visit if you're in the area.

My family and I decided to visit this place after reading about the great reviews and it surely didn't disappoint! All of us enjoyed our food very much, and would love to come back again. Incredibly fresh seafood at reasonable prices. Be sure to get there early though as the restaurant filled up pretty quickly and customers were turned away.

Cafe Fish was our restaurant of choice after our wedding, and we were thrilled with it. The food is outstanding, and the service is very good. The fresh fish and preparation were fantastic. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the Isle of Mull!
