“Home From Home”
Reviewed 21 August 2010 for a stay in August 2010

We have two small children and were a little anxious about staying in a B&B, but Munro’s really is home from home. Andy and Joan are very understanding of what is needed when you have young children.

Room 6 which we stayed in was plenty big enough for us all to fit in and the bed for the children was perfect. The only problem we had (if you can really call it a problem), was that there was no bath but a tub was soon provided which the kids enjoyed more than a normal bath! Having use of the common lounge and conservatory was a big plus as it gave us somewhere to let the kids play if it was raining and for the us to rest in the evening with a bottle of wine or two. Joan was also kind to cook pasta for the children one lunch time which may sound trivial but was an absolute godsend.

Breakfast was fanatatic, especially the home made bread. We would very much recommend Munro’s to anyone.

“The perfect B&B you always hope you'll find but rarely do”
Reviewed 17 August 2010 for a stay in May 2010

We are regular guests at Munro's, using it every time we visit the island since having it recommended by friends a few years ago. It is perfect - wonderfully comfortable beds, tastefully furnished rooms, great bathrooms and fabulous breakfasts for us, a beautiful garden, trampoline with a sea view and three dogs for the kids. Nothing is too much trouble for Andy and Joan - they do everything in their power to make your stay work for you, whether that's joining in an elaborate imaginary game with the kids or making us cup after cup of coffee as we hang out on the terrace enjoying the sun on the sea.

“Room with a view”
Reviewed 16 August 2010 for a stay in May 2010

We stayed at Munro's B&B for 2 nights during a short break on the Isle of Bute. Although we had visited Bute several times, we had never stayed overnight before. Munro's turned out to be an excellent choice on this occasion. The B&B is in an elevated position between Rothesay and Port Bannatyne. We had the mini suite, which has magnificent views over the Firth of Clyde; we could have spent all day watching the changing patterns of light and shade on the sea. The suite was bang up-to-date in terms of decor and facilities, and very comfortable. Our hosts could not have been more welcoming, and provided us with lots of information about the island, places to visit and where to eat out. We started our visit with afternoon tea, served in the conservatory, which also overlooks the sea. Breakfasts, again served in the conservatory with its fine views, were excellent: fresh fruit; home baked bread; and Scottish cooked breakfasts made freshly to order. We would certainly stay at Munro's again.

“Warm, friendly and fabulous”
Reviewed 19 July 2010 for a stay in July 2010

Stayed here for family wedding. Hosts were wonderful, nothing too much trouble. A real home from home. From talking to the other guests at the wedding, it sounds like this is, by far, the best B&B on the Island.

“Comfortable and friendly”
Reviewed 15 July 2010 for a stay in July 2010

Spent 5 day short holiday on Bute staying at Munros. Although the room we had was quite small, it was comfortable and spotless. The owners are a friendly and agreeable couple who made us most welcome. Excellant breakfasts served in a conservatory with a fine view over Rothesay Bay. The guest house is situated about 1.8 miles from the centre of Rothesay in a quiet situation.
