This is a most unique and special place that serves fabulous food, to the point that it always seems busy. As weary travellers we felt rescued by the warm welcome, warm fires and hearty food. Just what we needed. A must if you’re nearby.

Went for a lunch here after visiting Loch Lomond and Tarbet, very busy on the Saturday afternoon, both ordered steak pie. . Came with mashed potatoes and veg not bad sized portion, quite a noisy pub and could do with more bar staff as only one guy serving

We stopped off here last year and had a coffee and scone (you get 2 with cream and jam). Loved the quirkiness of the place and booked a night for my husbands birthday. Reception was busy on arrival but didn’t have to wait long. Our room was clean a bit dated but fitted in with the theme off the hotel. Had dinner in the bar area which was a wee bit overpriced for bar food was lovely and came very quickly after ordering. Breakfast was included and freshly made. We went a walk up to Falls of Falloch the following day and my daughter and her partner brought our Jack Russell up and we had lunch. They had the steak and Guinness pie which was a bit grizzly but enjoyable. Special shout out to staff they were always attentive and lovely even brought some water for the dog. Would definitely recommend.

Stopped in here with my young daughter as she loves the atmospheric vibe of the place. The Light meals menu looked good so we gave it a try. We were really impressed and I'm a bit picky as I work in the food industry. Hot crispy fish, perfect proper chips. Real mash and excellent veggie sausages. £7.50 per meal and more than decent portion size. Hats off to the chef and owner for getting the food quality and price bang on. Roaring fire and friendly staff.
