Owner description: The best way to experience what is known as the Queen of Scottish Lochs. Sweeney's Cruise Co is one of Scotland's longest running family businesses and Loch Lomond's only 5 star cruise operator. Based in the heart of Ballcoh village at Loch Lomond's southern end, closest to Scotland's major cities; just 35 minutes from Glasgow and 90 from Edinburgh. With daily 1 and 2 hour circular cruises, waterbus services linking the villages of Balloch, Luss and Balamaha, speed boat trips as well as private charter options there really is something for everyone.

We saw a queue waiting to board the boat moored by the dock. The details of the cruise were alongside. As we went on we could not understand why people were coming back off having been in the queue before us.
All was revealed when our money was taken, we were ushered onto the boat only to be herded out the other side onto a much smaller and shabbier boat on the other side of the one by the dock. People were coming off to get their money back!
It seems that the posh one moored alongside the dock was being chartered by a private party. This should have been made clear before money was taken. We stayed on but could not go up on the top as planned as the boat could only accommodate about 10 people sitting. We did stand for a little while but it was disappointing.
If not misrepresenation, then definately misleading .
I think they know that if you have queued for a while you are not likely to not go.

I had a day out with one of my friends and spied one of the boats cruising the loch while having my lunch and just had to have a go.

The tickets are pretty cheap and we didnt have to wait very long for the boat to arrive. We took the hour cruise and it was really excellent and relaxing. The captain gives a very informative guide over the tannoy, pointing out various spots and locations on the way up the loch and back again. It was the first time in a long time that i have ever felt totally relaxed and wishing i was a millionaire to be able to afford one of the big cruisers that are sailing up and down the loch. The scenery from the boat would take your breath away.....it was stunning!

If you are ever in Balloch i cannot recommend this cruise highly enough. I am absolutely going to go back there one day and take the longer cruise and take a few more of my mates with me.

i crusied at the end of the summer last year with Sweenys cruises. The scenery was amazing and i got to see many things that i had never seen before of that were not visible for the Lochside road. The tour guide was also extremly informative and gave us lots of interesting facts, he also told us a lot about the history of the area. After the cruise was finished he even stood about and answered questions. the whole area around Loch Lomond was great and i will definetly be back and will definetly go on another cruise.
