Monachyle Mhor is a treasure trove of surprises that never disappoints from the extraordinary quality of the rooms, the magnificent menu, sumptuous food, stunning views welcoming staff. Although the hotel is situated some 5 miles from the main road the views en route are superb. We were ther for an overnight stay with dinner and breakfast included. Warmly welcomed at reception and given a mini tour of the facilities before being shown to our room - and what a room - a 'feature' room that took our breath away. The room included an en suite bathroom with his and her basins, a huge bath, we and separate shower and steam room. The bedroom comprised a king size bed, chaise lounge, leather relaxer, TV, a mirror that filled an entire wall, a wood burning stove, a, illi coffe machine with coffee pods, assorted teas, water , shortbread, a high system and a selection of designer lights.
There were two common rooms for general use, both cosy retreats. A small, but well stocked bar and restaurant area. The grounds are spacious with ample parking and the hotel is dog friendly.
Dinner was a treat for the tastebuds and though it looked to be a normal three course affair it was anything but, by the time had finished we had eaten seven courses. Over and above the main menu we had canapés, an amuse Boucher, a veloute and a palate cleanser. Menu choices were excellent both in range and taste. The restaurant is quite intimate and I could hear other diners praising the quality of the food. After a pleasant night's sleep it was time for breakfast, again a wide selection to choose from to set you up for the day. I will most certainly return here.

Room Tip: Ask for a feature room.

Stayed for one night in a standard farm house room. The room was a bit small but was outfitted to utilize the space efficiently. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable
Level of service was top notch. Our meal was the best we have had in Scotland so far. The location is remote but that is part of the charm
Would recommend highly

Just back from a fantastic wee night away to celebrate our 10th Anniversary and had an absolutely fantastic time. The room, food, service and location are quite simply as good as it gets, would recommend to all!!
Special mention to Rosie the little dog from the hotel, who along with her Golden Labrador sidekick tagged along for a walk and made for great companions :-)

6 of us stayed (3 rooms) for 3 nights for a special birthday celebration.
We could not fault the place. The rooms are charming, spacious, very well equipped, super comfy beds. The food served at this hotel is outstanding. The living rooms in the main house and in the stables are comfortable and quirky, lots of soft deep chairs and sofas to sink into with a good book and something nice served from the bar.
The artwork and decor around the place is interesting and somewhat unusual, but in a good way! The hiking in this area is second to none, lots of lochs and tops to be visited. There is a food/music festival here in May every year, and it would certainly be worth coming to that. A big barn and various outbuildings and 'glamping' options make the whole place even more welcoming. The staff were all helpful, polite, service minded and personable.

We have been to Monachyle Mhor a few times for lunch in the past and had really enjoyed it. We were looking forward to our dinner bed and breakfast present and were not disappointed. The staff were friendly and the room really nice. Food was fantastic.
