I stayed here in April for a long weekend break from the city with my partner and our friends. To start, the train journey has fantastic views and is only a couple of hours from Glasgow. The staff at Pornellan were very helpful with the booking and extra info for the holiday and were very welcoming when we got there. The Raven lodge has the most stunning views out to Loch Lubhair, it looked amazing no matter what the weather was like, we had sun and rain. The facilites were great, perfect for two couples with it having two rooms, one ensuite plus another bathroom. The lounge area has french windows looking over to the loch, good sized kitchen and dining area too. Everything you need for a self catering holiday is there or is available if you ask, e.g. a BBQ to hire and local organic meat available to purchase on site. There is also a patio with picnic table which as a group of townies with no gardens we used a lot! The lodge is a 1.5 mile walk into town mainly on a path past the loch. There are a few pubs, a very well stocked shop and the hotel which serves lunch and dinner. Also well placed for walking part of the West Highland Way. I highly recommend Pornellan and hope to go back as it's a great place to have a holiday.
