Thank you for your review. I refer potential guests to read the previous 10 reviews:- 9 with 5 stars and 1 with four stars, every one of which give top marks for cleanliness. They give a more accurate impression of what to expect when staying at Shoreside Cottage. As the letting agent I regret that we were not able to come to some agreement on the night in question. It was upsetting for everyone involved.

“Perfect peaceful location and holiday home.”
Reviewed 18 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We stayed here as a group of myself and my wife plus 4 month old baby, two teenagers, plus grandparents.

The location was amazing with fantastic loch views day and night from the bedrooms and the living room. The house had plenty of space for all of us, and both bathrooms were clean with good showers. A very well stocked kitchen of pots and utensils, and lots of fridge/freezer space for food and drink.

The FreeSat TV wasn't used much but worked when required, and the free wifi was a must with the teenagers in tow. The utility room was a big bonus too with the washer and dryer both getting used to clean and dry wet clothes and baby towels etc.

The local area is great for walks, and the two local pubs both did a decent job of making the self catering strategy a little easier on a few nights. We also used the Drimsynie Estate across the loch for some arcade enterntainment and to use the pool which is a great facility to have close by.

This was our second trip to Lochgoilhead and we wouldn't hesitate to go back to Shoreside in the future.

Liked best: Loch views from the living room were hard to beat.
Liked least: The very squeaky floorboards! Not ideal with a baby in the house keeping unsociable hours, but a minor niggle.

“Felt so at home, cosey and welcome.”
Reviewed 15 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

A very last minute booking for a stay of 3 nights for moi, hubby teenage girl child, teenage niece and parents. Plus pooch.

The house was lovely, the setting spell binding views the gardens beautifully landscaped and well looked after.

The upstairs bathroom was lovely with the best tiling I've ever seen. (can I have the tilers name?)

There are a few critics from all the family;

1)Duvets and bed linen?. Heavy and yuk but mattress was fab!

2)Please supply quality towels and tea towels.

3)I am still bruised from head to toe from falling into the large concrete(can't explain any other way)ditch at the back of the house. I went left out of utility room to watch dog near the burn in the dark. Night light didn't go on and I'm now nursing a very sore arm and intense bruises.

However, my husband has since confest falling down it also as well as my 13 year old daughter and niece!

Slight health and safety issue which joking aside could have consequences. If that had been my elderly parents getting some fresh air while letting the dog loose it would not be a funny story!

Many thanks for posting what is overall a positive review. Just a couple of points I would like to respond to. It states on the web description and in your confirmation that you have to bring your own towels and dish towels. I put your comments re bedding and 'the ditch' to the owners who have replied: It is impossible to fall down the 'ditch' unless you touch the house and walk round in circles. As for the bedding, all cleaned at drycleaners on rotation. The web description states: Unfenced burn to one side of the property. Apologies if you fell in but this is the first instance in letting out this popular holiday home for 5 years that I have had a report of anyone falling in the ditch. Regards: Leonard Gow, Lochgoilhead Holidays.
