“Great stay”
Reviewed 14 May 2014 for a stay in August 2013

We stayed as a group of friends in August 2013, shortly after it opened. The cottage is lovely - lots of space with a mix of double and twin rooms. The dining room, kitchen and sitting room are all really big with plenty of space for everyone. Everything is clean and well thought through - very deserving of it's 5 star rating.

Location is great - quiet but just a short stroll from the waters edge. The garden is large and the BBQ is great for summer evening. The canoe and rubber dingy are ideal for taking onto the loch.

Colette, the owner, was very friendly and helpful when we arrived and a quick phone call sorted a snag with the heating while we were there.

All in all, very good and would definitely recommend...we hope to be back, if it's not fully booked!

“The Most Perfect Holiday Cottage in Scotland!”
Reviewed 21 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

This was a family celebration gathering for 9 of us(including my 84 year old father!) We were welcomed by the amazingly energetic Collette, and were so impressed by the loveliness and the comfort of the Strone! For the younger ones, the bikes and canoe and dinghy proved irresistable. The lovely Conservatory dining room led to lovely long dinners in the gloaming-all the scented candles added to the ambience. There was so much to do in the surrounding beautiful area...just BLISS! I have told all my friends and family about it, and would urge everyone to BOOK NOW! We will be back!

“Beautiful house in a beautiful setting-perfect for a family weekend”
Reviewed 20 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

I booked the Strone for a family weekend away- and it exceeded all our expectations! Collette was friendly and welcoming on our arrival and the house has been decorated beautifully. The best thing was that the house and the village met all our needs-it was user friendly for my 80+ year old grandfather- and near enough that he could stroll to the pub! It was perfect for my wee dog as the garden is fully enclosed and plenty of places to walk him on our door step! And having the bikes, canoe, and being so close to great walks meant that for those who want to be active they can...and for those who want to relax and take long bubble bath in the comfort of a 5* home-this house offers this opportunity too! Overall a great stay and all our needs were met - and service was efficient when any help was needed. We intend to return to The Strone in the future!!

“Perfect Hideaway”

We had a fabulous stay at The Strone and wished it had been available for longer. Collette personally welcomed us and had gone to a great deal of trouble lighting beautifully scented candles and putting a bottle of fizz on ice beside the bath - very nice touches. The place was spotless and the decor is beautiful. One immediately feels at home and able to relax and even our 2 dogs were made to feel welcome. There were no "rules" which was nice as most doggie owners take great care to respect holiday homes but often find a list of "dos and don'ts" which can be off-putting. Our dogs were relaxed right from the word go so that's a sign of a good vibe! We had no trouble finding everything we needed including the wine cooler, a good size fridge, separate freezer, top of the range coffee machine and a lovely welcome pack too. The other fabulous thing is the heating is so comfortable - none of the usual finding it going off early evening and the temperature plummeting. This is left on for your comfort and you just adjust the thermostat accordingly. We've stayed in some really lovely self catering properties but the welcome here really gives it the edge. The owners have clearly tried to think of everything. 5 stars from us. We didn't want to leave. Thank you.

The house is in a lovely position within the village of Luss and yet affords you privacy with garden and off street parking. It is beautifully furnished providing every comfort and so well equipped - it exceeded our expectations.
