We have been going to this hotel for the past 14 years when it was under highland heritage on coaching holidays and was always happy with the quality of service and experience.

Lovely hotel and the staff are very helpful but we observed that although some changes were for the better others we were disappointed in.

The front and the conservatories have been fitted out well and give a great first impression.

The food was good but some of the meals were disappointing but what we have experienced in the past, we felt that the independant visitors were treat better.

Well done to all the staff who work very hard especially Mary

There was mixed messages coming back to us as the what the future holds for coach hoildays and we all felt for the coach drivers who work very hard.

Room Tip: if you want a peaceful early night ask to be on the side of the dining room and ask for premium to superior rooms when booking

A few months ago my wife booked a weekend at this hotel for myself and two other friends through 5pm.com. After reading the Trip Advisor reviews at that time I though we had made a seriously big mistake by going here. How wrong was I. We travelled up from Glasgow and first impressions when we approached the hotel were good as the gardens were looking very neat and tidy given it was November. We were checked in by a pleasant young man who immediately gave us a room next to our friends as we wished to be near each other. The bar was a massive room but not very busy in view that there were quite a few coaches in the car park. The bar prices were reasonable and the staff pleasant. Our evening meal, although not fine dining, was very tasty and liked by us all, as were the two breakfasts that we had during our stay. All in all a very good hotel for the price we paid. None of the four of us had anything to complain about and we all agreed that we would return again if we came across another deal like this one.

To be honest, you get what you pay for. Accommodation was clean and tidy, beds comfy etc entertainment on Friday was good, Saturday bought not so. U wldnt expect elvis but someone that can hold a tune would be a bonus. Didn’t eat in there as it wasn’t included in what w booked. I would stay again at the price I paid.

Stayed here for 2 nights on November 3rd and 4th for a weekend break with my wife.We had booked a double room on the Groupon deals. We were allocated Room 20 on the ground floor and noticed immediately that the windows were unable to close properly and the heating was not coming on.We informed reception immediately and went out for a short walk.On our return the receptionist offered us a twin room as she couldn't close the windows either as there were no other double rooms available.Reluctantly we accepted the move rather than stay in a cold room.We stayed in a twin room on first floor room 70.Room was fine and warm apart from remote control for TV not working.Dinner was very good and 3 course meal and bottle of wine were great value.Meal slightly ruined by Christmas music though and same at breakfast time but hey it made it entertaining.Breakfast was great as well and you could have kippers, boiled or poached eggs or traditional fry up along with cereal, fresh fruit etc.Bar prices were very reasonable as well.Entertainment was actually quite good and we had an accordionist playing ceilidh music on the Friday and we took part in the ceilidh dances which was good fun.Saturday entertainment was good also and music and banter was great.Overall we had a great time and I would have given a higher rating apart from shambolic check in.It is great value for money and we would both go back.Caters for a lot of coach parties and there was 7 parked in the car park although the buses weren't full.As I have said we were on a groupon deal so good value, but be prepared for the different age groups. We felt very young being under 50
