Just returned from a weekend break at the Ben Doran, and what can I say, it was great! Hard to find any faults with the hotel at all, and for the price, it is amazing value. Externally the hotel is set in lovely grounds, set back from the road, and looks quite classy. The reception area is very welcoming, as are the staff. The rooms are clean & tidy, if a bit dated, but slippers & dressing gowns, really!! Plenty of tea & coffee, shortbread, the a bottle of wine in the room. Dining room & bar are on the top floor, unusual, but with large windows, the views in summer must be breathtaking. The food was well presented by friendly attentive staff, who could not do enough for you. A great base hotel for a visit to the highlands or for a welcome break on your travels, would definitely go again.
