Description: Zip code: FK14 7DE Tel: 01259 742 515 This restaurant and tavern is in Dollar (Scotland) in the UK near the Ochil Hills in Central Scotland. Their food is amazing; the best we ate during our entire UK trip (and we all over the place). Their sticky toffee pudding is the best I have ever eaten and boasts a texture that is out of this world. The tavern setting is upscale, but intimate. Not to be missed.

This place is ideal for drinking and eating.

Mainly used by friendly locals you will be welcomed as a visitor

On one occasion I was there the restaurant was closed and a local person offered to drive some visitors to the next village to get a quality meal.

A wide selection of drinks and food although basic is of a high quality.

Weekends can be busy with folks watching sports tv.

Overall a great little place to have a drink, eat some good food and mingle with the locals.

Ate here on our first and second days in Scotland. Wonderful little pub with great local atmosphere. Pets are welcome at this pub - complete with pet etiquette rules.

Popped in for a coffee while waiting to meet a friend - was very quiet as it was just on 12 - the barmaid was very pleasant and the coffee was very good. Apparently under new ownership and due for a major refurb -

Just arrived here after reading the good beer guide app expecting to order a meal, to be told that this bar and restaurant doesn't have a chef.
Barmaid didn't even acknowledge us as she was to busy speaking to a local when we arrived.
The huge sign outside the place still advertises bar and restaurant with pub kitchen!!

Apologies for your recent experience but thanks for your comments anyway. We are awaiting planning permission to embark on a full refurbishment of the premises which will allow the kitchen to open fully in the near future. We hope we can persuade you to come back and give us another try once all is up and running. As for the welcome, thats very disappointing as we set out to welcome everyone to Dollar. Hope you enjoyed the Beer!

The King's Seat is undergoing change. The restaurant used to be open for most of the week, and then closed for some time. It now does Wednesday curry nights, and the restaurant has started opening at weekends. But it will then close for a while for refurbishment - and after that, it will return to full service. - We went there on a curry night. The main meal dish of a curry is £5. It was tasty and is good value, but if you add in a starter or desert the bill grows. Nevertheless, for two of us with drinks the bill came to just over £30 - and we felt well fed. Not bad. The bar is a great little place, and there are a range of local beers etc.
