Owner description: Sun Studio - The place where an 18 year old Elvis Presley recorded his first song. It’s well-known in the music industry as "The Birthplace of Rock 'N' Roll" and the most famous recording studio in the world. Opened by rock pioneer Sam Phillips in 1950, this national Historic Landmark is where superstar musicians like Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, B.B. King, Howlin' Wolf, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison and countless others started their recording careers. Today, Sun Studio still serves as a recording studio in the evenings while hosting public tours during the daytime hours.

It was a great day with Graceland and Sun Studio trip combined. I didn't get the girl who took us thru but she was amazing. Fun of energy and you could tell she loves her job. So much information and such an iconic place to visit

Tours start at 10:30 and seem to fill up 30 to 45 minutes before start time. We had a lovely and enthusiastic guide to this still operating recording studio. A hint to a great and organized day of music and Elvis history: Start here and take the free bus out to Graceland and then back to Beale Street. It will save you the time and extra cost of a separate bus tour to Graceland if you don't have a car. And the 2 places have such a connection in musical history. It'll make a super great day easy and convenient.

I visited here but did not take the tour, as time did not permit. It was a fun place to snap a pic and see where Elvis recorded his first album!

excellent tour with an friendly guide. Very cool place to visit. Be prepared for crowds of people and buy your tickets early if you can. My wife and I were lucky and got tickets for a tour the same day and only had t wait about 45minutes. We heard one of the employees telling people that they were sold out and that those not fortunate enough to get tickets should try getting them earlier in the day or get them for the next day. Otherwise if you're here for the music and history it's a must visit.
