Description: Texas de Brazil is no ordinary steakhouse. It’s a dining experience like no other. Here, traditions of Brazilian cooking blend with Texas hospitality to create a lively atmosphere in an upscale setting. Your meal begins with a visit to our extravagant salad area where you can indulge in a wide array of seasonal roasted vegetables, fresh artisan breads, charcuterie, imported cheeses and other specialties. Then enjoy the rodizio-style dining that has made us famous. An endless parade of gaucho servers visits your table with skewers of freshly grilled beef, lamb, pork, chicken and Brazilian sausage carved directly onto your plate. It’s all served with authentic side dishes of garlic mashed potatoes, Brazilian cheese bread and sweet fried bananas. To complement your meal, select from our award-winning collection of wines or traditional Brazilian bar creations. And don’t forget to treat yourself to one of our decadent à la carte desserts.

Had a Sunday evening reservation which was honored promptly. Our server Abdoul, was excellent - friendly, helpful, and attentive. The lobster bisque was flavorful, but it unfortunately was heavy on the lemon and light on the lobster. Potatoes au gratin were not available - unfortunate, as I do not care for garlic in mashed potatoes. Nice salad bar selections which we essentially skipped. Why anyone would eat salad at a Brazilian steakhouse is a mystery to me. One comes here to eat the meats, and they were all excellent, especially the lamb chops. People who routinely avoid salt may well find the meats a little salty.
Ambiance definitely lacking here - room was quite noisy, and became unpleasantly warm. You may want to think twice about visiting when the temperature is in the 90’s.
We had been told this was a somewhat dressy place - don’t even bother. 80% of the customers were wearing shorts and athletic shoes or flip-flops. It’s not really fine dining, even though it comes with a fine dining price tag.

Texas de Brazil is a churrascarria-style steak house chain. Three of us recently dined here for a business meal and found the experience lackluster. Denizens typically start their meal with a trip to a salad bar which features traditional basics such as lettuce, dressing, and croutons, and then advances to more rarified dishes such as higher-end cheese, prosciutto, and olives. The wine list is extensive, but considerably over-priced (the most inexpensive Italian red was $48/bottle and the more traditional Malbecs were considerably more). After wine is served and a trip to the salad bar complete, the waitress brings out a community side dish or two and then a host of carvers descend upon the table, each offering a different cut and preparation of meats. Filet, sirloin, leg of lamb, pork, chicken drumsticks in Parmesan, and much more are all on tap.

While there are piles of food on tap, it is not necessarily very good food. We found many of the meats presented almost too salty to eat. Many cuts, such as the flank steak, were extremely greasy and the flavor of the meat entirely lost. The hot side dishes, aside from dry mashed potatoes, were non-existent (we asked for bananas as they were on offer, but they never did arrive). With wine and desert, our tickets were about $90 per person. There are much, much nicer places to dine in the area for that sort of money. Were the seasoning of the meats done better, a few more hot side dishes on tap, and the staff generally a bit happier (it was apparent that many were just going through the motions), then I might consider a recommendation and return visit. Otherwise, pass on this and try some of Memphis' other fine dining options.

We love Brazilian meats and this location does a superb job. Love the ambience, the service. The buffet spread was lovely. And the desserts were amazing as well.

This restaurant is definitely not for a timid eater!! It is pricey but well worth the money for those who love to eat!! Excellent salad bar and LOTS of meat right off the spit. Just don't fill up on the salad and sides to enjoy some of the famous grilled meat offerings.

This is a large restaurant with a set $50 price for all all you can eat. But we wanted a light meal so we took the option of sitting at the bar and were welcomed by the bar staff, imbibed excellent wine, and a good plate of steak, chicken, and sausage, presaged by a lobster bisque. All very good and highly enjoyable. A vibrant atmosphere and a great place to eat.
