“Idyllic Honeymoon”
Reviewed 23 October 2012 for a stay in September 2012

My husband and I booked this cottage for 7 days for our honeymoon in September 2012. I currently live in America and he in England so we wanted a place where we could spend nice, peaceful, quality time together. The Wynne family was extremely friendly and accommodating. I emailed a few preliminary inquiries which where quickly and thoroughly replied to. Ben was also extremely pleasant and conscientious about making sure everything was set for our arrival. He also gave extremely thorough directions to the cottage which were easy to follow and necessary even with a satnav. The drive up to the cottage is breathtaking and feels like you are driving through a fairytale forest. Pictures just don't do it justice. Upon our arrival Mrs. Wynne came out to greet us and let us know she was there if we needed anything. The cottage is fully appointed with everything one would need. It even had basic first aid items in the medicine cabinet. They have really thought of everything! There is no cell signal in the cottage or internet - though we were able to take our laptop to the main house and use their internet when we needed to quickly download something. Mrs. Wynne was very gracious and helpful. There is also an internet cafe in town if you really need it. We drove into Barmouth, approximately a 25 minute drive, almost daily for groceries at the co-op and ate most of our meals in the cottage. However, we did get takeout from Tony's Italian restaurant a couple of times in the village. I highly recommend it! The area is picturesque and while the cottage feels tucked back away from everything, you are just a short bit away from the seaside and shops and restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and if given a chance will definitely stay there again. We've also highly recommended it to my in-laws. The beds are firm, the water pressure strong, the cottage clean and well stocked, and the views are breathtaking. I would recommend this cottage for couples old and young, families and friends traveling together. We had a friend stay a couple of days with us and the house is big enough it didn't feel crowded at all with 3 people. Also, the walls are thick enough you can watch tv downstairs and no one upstairs will even know it is on. My husband and I have been an internationally long distance couple for 4 years and have stayed in many holiday rentals in England, Wales, Ireland and the US. This property lived up to all it's promises and the Wynne's couldn't be more pleasant to deal with if they tried. We couldn't have asked for a better locale for our honeymoon!

We always look forward to your visits and it's lovely to see the children as well, who are now all grown up. Time flies!

Your walking and biking exploits are truly impressive and you have mastered the Welsh buses to extend your walks even further!

“A holiday that bought back my childhood memories of what Wales was all about”
Reviewed 12 August 2012 for a stay in August 2012

A cottage in a very peaceful setting. We were made to feel very much at home with a warm welcome, once we opened the door our son ran straight upstaires to pick his room (which as a child I so remember doing) and to be surprised when he had two beds to choose from, coming back downstaires he finds his favourite cake and a jug of milk to make a well deserved cup of tea. After a good nights sleep we woke to a beautiful view so walking boots on off we went to explore and we couldnt have asked for any more, fantastic scenery and all on your door step. We had a wonderful week visiting Harlech, Bedgelert and taking the train up and down Snowdon which we found expensive BUT we highly recommend for all guests to do, such an experience, the views and history of it.
A week in such a wonderful surrounding was just not enough to see the are so we definately hope to be back.
