Used this toll bridge when travelling from Fairbourne to Barmouth cuts a long around trip via Dolgellau. Cars 80p each way bigger vehicles slightly more well worth the 20-30 second trip across. Don't know full history only it's very old. Contactless cash payment they put a copper tin on a stick then empty it into a larger bucket I used this bridge several times on our trip I never asked for change just paid a £1. Staff friendly a polite probably give you history and information if you asked them. Short trip into Barmouth from there.

The crossing only took about 20 seconds and was a bit of a bone shaking affair but that is what is to be expected with a 140 year old wooden bridge.
80 pence to cross seems cheap.
Once across, the old railway walk commences at the other side.

we walked over the bridge - great views. There is a toll booth and I think we paid about 30p each to walk over
